hey buddy, question is what ignition and how did you wire the ignition ? hit me up on email kyle_09@hotmail.com or on phone 918 448 2090 i got a garret a/r 60 building up for this
that thing runs red hot, but what if u submerge in entirely in water?, ofcorse the intake and exhaust would have to have , pipes going in and out from the water tank, but could you runt it much longer that way?
@Omgturboooo Its a jet engine, the turbo shoves air in, fuel is added in a combustion chamber, it explodes creating thrust, that goes through the other end of the turbo, making it spin, then it goes out the back into that long tube where more fuel is added and combusted, then compressed making even more thrust.
How are you introducing the fuel into the combustion chamber? Is it being directly injected or is it sucking in the gas from the front where all those vapors where?
its funny because todays jet engines are so fukking incredible complicated and this one is just totaly not that complicated(no offense) but stil it works
buen trabajo los felicito aunque seria bueno comenzar a realizar diseños y utilizar elementos fabricados por ustedes mismos en lugar de chatarra pero como dije los felicito por su iniciativa
That was cool, Nice job. the last one that I made had a smaller combustion chamber. But it works and that is what counts. Have you tried to put into a wheeled vehicle yet ?
Sorry BREH, but when someone says they would like to see a video of my friends and i killed i tend to take it personal. When you build your jet engine you can do it however you like!
im not saying its not cool and I do have experience in turbines no reason to jump on the defense brahh but the fact that you have that intake uncaged is pretty risky and like my comment said I would catch a laugh to see it explode cause your boyfriend drops something in front of it and fods out your engine, maybe seeing someone die would be too much. maybe just to see it explode would be good enough.
@Emaster255 Thank you for coming along and telling me what is safe and what is not. You must have a tremendous amount of jet experience coupled with years of turbocharger experience to make these claims. I know it's dangerous, everyone else there knows it was dangerous. I guess thats the difference between you and i, you just watch videos on youtube while i actually put myself in harms way to entertain you!!!
I bet the elderly suburban couple across the road were looking out their window thinking what the hell is that big pink loud thing shooting flames4 !!!
I tip my hat to you guys. You have truly inspired me to want to attempt this my self. When the video of my engine exploding hits the web I'll give you props lol!
would I be right in saying your combustion chamber is too small given the amount of fuel being burnt after the turbo? Pretty impressive still, I plan on making something like this once I get a cheap turbo
Very impressive to watch but uber dangerous. I wouldn't want to be standing near that if there was mechanical failure and the rotor was thrown through the turbo casing.
@rcfreak2493 most of these homemade jets are propelled by either propane or diesel, you can see he has a gas tank so hes running on diesel which is a perfect alternative to kerosene, kerosene is what is used in commercial jets, but a bit more expensive, the afterburner should be running on diesel as well, hope that answered your questions
"Hey baby... check out my big red schlong.... hahah"
Im speechless how sick, how dangerous, how wreck less, i want one... theirs gotta be beer in that coolant bucket hahaha. Crazy action in this garage. I wanna party with these dude... i wonder what the neighbors say
When you thought a turbine couldn't get molten hot. This garage brought you.... "THE HOT ROD"
Man, that thing has to make enough thrust to burst one of those coolant hoses out of the bucket and burn every one around...
i think they work like this, air comes in and gets mixed with fuel between the cold and hot side, ignites and shoots out the hot side of the turbo, spinning the hot side turbine, which spins the intake turbine sucking in more air. its the exhaust that makes forward thrust.
@BUNCHofxs what occurs is the combustion chamber on the side has air blown through it by the compressor which is mixed with fuel and ignited which spins the turbine which is hooked to the compressor side so it keeps it spinning, then the remaining hot gasses are blown out producing thrust as well the turbine shooting out air at insane rates since these reach around 100,000 RPMs sometimes more.
@pyroboy08 Best explanation so far. but i have to say, you didnt tell me anything i didnt already know. I just suck at explaining things. but thanks for putting that out there.
I dont understand much about jet engines, but as far as I know it works like this: It sucks air at one end, compresses it, shoots it at the back where it is then mixed with fuel and ignited, the air particles expand and this causes thrust. Am I right?
So what parts did you guys use to make this besides the turbo? My friends and I want to do it as well but don't know what to use for the compression chamber, or the exhaust.
that hose connecting to the nozzle? is it to spray fuel into the exhaust for the afterburner or is it just a sensor? also im guessing all that smoke is oil vapour but why is it vaporizing so much? does the oil go through the turbo then back to that bucket?
It's much more than that. With the AB lit it would bend the late it was mounted to. We actually had to brace it for fear of it snapping off. I am guessing between 60-80lb of thrust. If you let go of the stand it would shoot across the shop.
@13BTRX3 hah! that puts my pulse jet to shame, it weighs 150 pounds, is seven feet long and puts out a whopping 25 pounds of thrust, it can't even move itself along the ground
The turbo is pushing a few bar pressure here. It's feeding back on itself, and the fuel itself is creating a huge amount of pressure that a stock turbo isn't designed to produce. That throat is about 4 sq. inches, and a turbo doing 15psi can get 60 pounds of thrust easy. psi in the chamber times throat area = thrust.
@hornyarab11< That's only at low speed in a car, you're thinking of boost not thrust. One of the Men at my station has a turbo jet he built for his boat. Had a machine shop rig and balance an output shaft and for shits and giggles put it on an engine dyno. That little sucker put 180 HP to the shaft which is insane considering an Allison 250 turbo-shaft helicopter engine puts out 250 to 300 hp. Pushes that 15 foot boat to about 40-45 knots.
exhaust from an engine or whatever they have turns a prop in the intake which has a shaft that goes to the compressor that then compresses the air to great pressures releases it and then you put a little exselerent into the heated air and that makes a flame
So a turbo forces an compresses air into a tube and ingnites it and creates extremely high pressure Which forces it out the back through another propeller which in turn drives the first turbo? Am I right?
For the most party, yes. Although a turbocharger doesn't ignite the air. It just compresses/atomizes it before it enters the engine. Another thing, the first turbine/propeller is powered by the exhaust of an engine. Hope this helps.
@freezinteen Thats only a single turbo. The output from the compressor is fed to the input on the exhaust side. Then fuel is injected and ignited causing that to be exhausted out of the back of the engine drawing more air in through the compressor stage.
Now to put it on a shopping cart
