  • i deep fry mine and coat them with cinnamon and sugar they are so good

  • I like mine with chili powder and brown sugar. Sooo good.

  • Can u keep the skin from the potato and bake it? would it make an difference

  • I like how you both couldn't bite the fry in half. That says something about the recipe doesn't it.

  • You are not supposed to bake with Extra Virgin Olive Oil... All the Indian families and friends are on the band wagon of using Olive Oil but most people are clueless about how to use it. They do Tarka, Frying, and baking with it.. All big no no's.. You heat up extra virgin Olive Oil more than 150deg and the oil burns you guys are cooking at 425 deg. Think about what is that doing to that Olive Oil.? You need a high heat oil like Sun Flower or Safflower Oil.Other than that nice vid.

  • @outspeaker a tyical pizza oven is 551 farenheit...thats more than 250 degrees and olive oil are used on pizzas, pizzas are baked...id personally go with the italians cos they know better....

  • Nice and simple. Used this tonight, my daughter couldn't believe how good it tasted. I used a squeezed lime instead.

  • Nice video (: I am making sweet potatoes right now (:

  • say what you want bur i saw red potatoes for the first time!:)

  • Can you also use normal potato's ?

  • @michi3dayo : You can use any kind of potatoes. The cooking time may vary but the taste will be great :)

  • @ShowMeTheCurry thank you for your advice and answer. ;D

  • you should try it with cinnamon and sugar instead of the spices, makes it a little more like dessert!

  • @mylam2008 yep

  • @mylam2008 ... thats like asking can you use turkey meat instead of hamburger meat!! Let's use what's left of our brain here!!.....why would it matter what kind of potato you use?

  • 2705: se ve que no eres cocinero o chef. los mejores chefs del mundo usan las manos, claro que constantemente se esta lavando uno las manos.

  • thank you for this :)

  • what was that background noise girls? I think you two need your own tv program cos I found u both entertaining and ur attractive! Oh yeah you can cook to, lol ; o ) Good vid thank you

  • @peterrory : The noise is our hair brushing against the mics :( We have learned a few tricks over time.

Also, thanks for the compliments :)

  • I love sweet potato fries! Thanks for the recipe ;)

  • serán cerdas usando las manos!!!! please! don't use your hands!!!!

  • @Online2705 : Hands are the best tools in the world, one should never be afraid to use them :)

  • @ShowMeTheCurry of course, u can whatever u want! ;) anyway! the recipe is really good! so... good luck o good job! ;)

  • beautifull , not just the yams :)

  • @egahd Sweet potatoes are not yams...

  • citric acid? makes sense....I'm making this tomorrow to go with my falafel...

  • u guys should have added curry to these fries..

  • cursess! now i want one!

  • the nice lady on the right of my screen looks like she is going to get the gigglesany minute.... watch her she is really sweet....gonna try the chips this evening thankyou for the video

  • im gunna try this...but im gunna cancle all those spices bcs i dont have the money for them im gunna put curry on it and chilli powder should be interesting hope it comes out good.

  • show me the currrrrrrrrryyyyyyyyyyyy! is this fattening?

  • @batterycock

If you watch the amount of oil you use, this is remarkably a tasty but healthy item.

  • @batterycock i believe the olive oil is 120 calories per tbsp. but the fat thats in it are all good fats which means its not the saturated fat. eat them before 5:00 at night and you'll be fine.

  • If you put a little more olive oil on the fries, you can put the spices on before you cook them. That way they're baked into the potato, instead of falling off into the bowl. I like them with brown sugar, salt, and a lot of cayenne. If you cook them at a little lower temperature for a longer period, that makes them crispier without burning them.

  • @MrHomeChef : We will give that a shot. Thanks for the suggestion :)

  • @ShowMeTheCurry Thank you for all of your great recipes!

  • @MrHomeChef How low for temperature then 350?

  • @mermer3m About 400. Use your hands to mix up the fries with the oil, it works better. The ladies are trying not to get oil on their hands LOL! When they start to get darker, flip them and put them back in until the other side gets darker.

  • @MrHomeChef okay thank you :D

  • what about salt?

  • Please use hair clips to keep the hair out of your faces and to stop you from tossing your heads around so much. You can find very beautiful and small clips anywhere.

  • hint hint... :D i really have to stop watching these videos, they always make me hungry :P

  • Thanks! I'm definitely trying this recipe this week.. All minus the "etc etc Masala" have no idea what that is or where to get it

  • looks yummy!

  • I like you ladies, much better than "Aarti's Party"!

  • what make you giggle ........... XD

another question, at the end does they taste salty and sweet????

  • @victoriaamada

Yes, they have a nice balanced sweet and salty taste.

  • actually, how did you guys cut the potatos like that? i brought some and i dont really know how to cut it that shape

  • @Jboy235

It requires a big, sharp knife :)

  • @ShowMeTheCurry uh im not sure thats all the explaination lol, may i please have more details on how to cut it the shape you guys did?

  • @Jboy235

Peel the sweet potato and cut it into flat strips lengthwise (approx 1/2 inch wide). Take each flat strip and cut it into long rectangles. Its a little hard to explain in writing :(

  • @Jboy235 or a mandolin

  • can i make it an other shape?

  • @Jboy235

    Sure.

  • Yum!

  • hint hint... :P

  • haha love how u "hint hint" Hetal, that was a nice laugh.

  • This looks awesome! I'm going to try this for a party.

  • Too many spices, maybe that's why you're both so motu!!!

  • Roasting these with chicken... the fat (from the chicken) just .... makes it heavenly. It is like no other flavor :)

  • @neurocosm

    hmmm...interesting.

  • um can i cut them in like star shapes or heart shapes etc to make it look a bit prettier for my bento box?

  • @TheJudgetv

You can cut them into any shape that you like, however, keep in mind that raw sweet potatoes are a little tough to cut (unlike regular potatoes).

  • mmm will definitely give those a try thanks!

  • Little bit of salt? you added A LOT.

    .

  • @thugricanz : it is to taste ;)

  • how to do if i dont have oven?

  • how to do if i dont have oven?

  • @siupui520 : either you can deep fry them or saute them over the stove with a little oil.

  • this is cool, just how much time does it take to bake?

  • @impratik

Approximately 15 mins (flipping once in the middle)..but keep an eye on it as all ovens are different.

  • do these come out crispy like regular french fries?

  • @beeasays

They have a nice outer coating but not exactly as crispy as regular potato fries.

  • I simply love all your recipes and your presentation and beautifu smiles.

    Ina

  • @Inam1951

Thank you! You made our day!

  • this is so great! we love how your show gives us healthy and tasty alternatives. thanks!

would you please show us more easy, healthy indian snack/ street foods???

  • hahhaha ..`hint hint` u guys are awesome! btw i tryed this and YUM!

  • yummmmm !!!!

  • If you make sweet potatoes this way, where do you put the marshmallows?

  • yea we will trust oss loved it XD

  • Sweet potato fries are good. But mashed sweet potatoes are out of this world. Try them.

  • oh and i make samosas out of sweet potatoes too

  • We call those yams. Sweet potatoes are yellow inside not orange.

  • well most people in the u.s. call these either sweet potatoes or yams, technically both orange and yellow varieties are sweet potatoes, while the true yam is a large white fleshed root used in latin america and the caribbean

  • Lovely video; it is so nice to see new and delicious recipes for sweet potatoes.....is there an online resource that you could suggest for ordering the spices you used in this video? I am not located in an area where they are readily available in my supermarket or specialty store....thank you.

  • they are burnt LOL

  • if you cut the potato super thin like chips .. e.g. lays chips thin .... and then bake em ... you got sweet potato chips .. which didnt come from a packet!!! no added salts and E numbers ... :)

  • These will be delicious of course. I have previously made fries like this that had Italian herbs instead of the Indian ones. The cooking method and time is exactly the same.

  • I love you guys, you really are the perfect host's to a perfect show. Cant wait for your next recipe.

  • @derrick505

Thank you!! You made our day :)

  • where can we buy citric acid powder?

  • @Juicyjulz100

It is readily available at Indian/Asian grocery stores.

  • @Juicyjulz100 you can find it in the middle eastren stores!

  • bulk bins, health food stores, online grocery stores, sometimes you can even find it in the spice aisle in larger grocery stores.

  • happy birthday!

  • @timbits2

Wish you a very very happy birthday!!

  • can we make the same with russet potatoes?

  • i dont see why you couldnt but russets cook quicker than sweet potatoes

  • Nice video...these are better than regular fries....Thanks!

  • where do i get all e spices??? hahahahas

  • @Evangielle
