For me its battery life that makes or breaks it the Caanoo is as far down as I want to go so the JXD products are definately not enough. Same goes for 3DS and most likely Vita. I always wonder why we can't have swappable batteries in these things so we could upgrade or have a spare.
@wbyyo In me experience, the majority of systems, this handheld emulates use d-pads. Playing with a joystick on those games is umcomfortable and doesn't always respond the right way. The 4 face buttons on the device were defnitely made with the japanese in mind. They are very small and take some getting used to. In certain emulators, the image sometimes bleeds out from the screen, meaning you can't always see everything, it seems like the sreen is not big enough. Buy a JXD Instead.
@wbyyo Not only is the JXD more ergonomic. The screen is bigger and brighter, the speakers work better, you don't have to upload your own emulators, it has them built in. You get the choice to use a dpad and a joystick, Average JXD is $70. A Caanoo will set you back $100 or more and needs SD cards for memory. The JXD 1000 will emulate older game systems like the GBA, GBC, SMD, SMS, SNES, where as the 3000 will emulate PS1 (3d is slow as heck) GBA and SNES, and should do them fine.
@SitarKnight i don't own a caanoo but have a friend that does, psx now works better on caanoo and all other emulators too the ergonomic is subjective i for example prefer the wiz
i prefer emulator that are continued developing i heard about lots of problems about putting psx roms. the screen is big enough for me, i want portability, if not i would buy the yinlips machine. JXD1000 had serious problems with frameskiping
@wbyyo Idk what the screens are made of themselves, I just know the JXD has a higher resolution and looks better. You can even tell in the video above in the details of the two games. The Caanoo's screen has this really weird look to it, like there's a color filter or something, but to me, it's looks craptastic. The JXD is more like a hacked psp, it just works, looks and feels better. IMO anyways.
@SitarKnight ok i agree with all you have said but i still preffer caanoo because of emulators and portability and l and r buttons as i'm not using it as a pmp then i don't care resolution but that's and advantage of jxd3000
They both run slower than 100% but love my caanoo and i wouldn't get the JXD. The only reason i can give is the JXD has no streets of rage remake port :P
so essentially the caanoo is better? If I were to buy an open handheld, what should I get?

Video outdated. The PCSX Rearmed Emulator on Caanoo is better.

caanoo will have better psx emulator at soon, like psxrearmed. jxd 3000 not. most games on this emulator not run at full speed.
