@sequiaonda78 yeah i think koch, kocembova, kratochvilova, and vladykyna were totally doped!! But i wouldnt say so about valerie brisco hooks, she ran 48.83, and i have to admit that Olga Bryzgina did run 49.05 in barcelona 1992 so that would put her in number 5! dont u think?
@sequiaonda78 Hello ! I think personally that maybe Bryzgina was doped at the beginning of her career, when she realized her PB 48.27 in 1985. After that she set 48.65 in 1988 and 49.05 in 1992. I think this two times were cleanly realized. Valérie Brisco ? I have big doubts on her. She was in exceptionnal shape in Los Angeles1984 with 48.83 but her second best time is 49.56 in 1985, 49.79 in 1984 before the games, she broke 50 sec just five times in her career !
@BOOMSLANG85 I do agree.... Brisco-Hooks was dirty at 1984, and according to blueeboy1988, I think Bryzgina should be in No. 5 after her 49.05 in Barcelona winning the silver medal behind Perec.
@sequiaonda78. As Brisco can broke 49 sec once time, she would have of to break 50 sec more than five times ! What do you think about Cheeseborough and her 49.05 ?
OMG i just watched those ugly fucking beasts Jamila Kratchvilova and Marita Koch run in the 1981 world cup. Thats a fucking joke and a disgrace that they leave the times in the record books that these two enormous ugly men disguised as women ran. And they wanna talk about and judge that sth african 800metre runner Caster Samenya for looking like a man, well she is a beauty queen compared with these two!! hahaha
CATHY FREEMAN and MARIE JOSE PEREC are still the two best womens 400 metre runners of all time..... they were totally drug free and not suspect!!
there times at the atlanta olympics are still unrivalled. I just wished that sanya richards was running when they were that world record would belong to either cathy or marie.
In the early 80's Marita Koch sent a letter to East Germany's medical facturer, saying that Wöckel (Bärbel) gets more steroids than her, because Bärbel has a relative in the company. So do not say anymore, that that isn't a dope-record. It's not a world record.
In one picture Kratochvilova is throwing herself to the finish line. She really looks like a man with all those HUGE muscles (and her face). I think ''Jarmo'' was also using something not so legal. (In sporting, I mean)
but Koch was doped wasn't she? btw give it up for Kerron Stewart for being the fifth fastest woman over 100m, and the second fastest "clean" runner after Christine Arron
Boy, that sounds so premature.. when u think of reality, steriods r legal in Europe. WADDA was formed in 2000, directly because of the Ottey case, and the CAS rush to dismiss her posititve test, which were later found to be correct in the first place.
Now - today there is no anti-doping agency in Jamacia none; their athletes are unsupervised and untested. Although parliment is pushing throught legislation that will enact the WADDA code, and they r trying to form an anti-doping organization.
Hmm, I wonder if Sanya would consider doing a 100/200 double one year. She's already shown potential in the 100m with her 10.97(into a headwind that is) back in 07, and of course her 200m PR of 22.17.........
Great time !!! Excellent performance and technique... Now, reproduce it in a major championship for God's sake !!!!! and stop managing to always lose and making excuses

there is no clear eviidence agaiinst the great Marita Koch's world record time of 47.60 secs over 400m as she set that in 1985. The cloud of suspicion was between 1981 - 1984.
that's bs, the "cloud" was from the 70's to the 90's and partially came back in the next millenium with balco.. and there is all the evidence(physical appearance most of all) in the world to say that almost every wr from that era was made with shit in the veins.. the only evidence that doesn't exist is a positive doping-test.. nowadays they are catching the cheating ones all the time in all sports which makes it easier to believe that those who don't get caught are in fact clean
That cloud of suspicion hung over almost every aspect of East German athletics right up until the Wall came down. Remember. Their "program" was STATE-SPONSORED, as opposed to programs like BALCO's, which was conducted by a bunch of individuals not connected in any way to a single entity.
mamma mia che forza!grandissima richards!speriamo che quest'anno ritorni nella condizione di forma del 2006 così vedremo una bella battaglia tra lei e quella stupenda atleta ke è la felix!alè ragazze!!!
Steroids won't make you go seconds faster on the 400m. Besides even if she did steroids, all the suplements crap and lightweight tenues today would probably have made her run faster as well. Koch would have beaten that time anyway.
I'm just stating that whether Koch was on roids or not it only reflects in comparison to the athletes in her era. You can't compare it with today's athletes. Yes, it's harder to do steroids these days, but steroid development has also improved. Even if you run drug free (drug free but with hundreds of supplements that is) today's athletes still have an advantage over those in the past with shoes that don't weigh a thing and streamlined shirts and development and research in training procedures.
she naaw run good caz no more banana, yam, and dumplin to feed her sell out ass...she was the fastest person at age 11 in the world but since she came 2 america at 12yr n bred by them she jus aight...
No, she's where she needs to be. It would be kind of silly for her to train, eat and benefit from American techniques only to go back and run for Jamaica. That girls speed has nothing to do with Jamaica. That's an American-bred athlete, baby.
Not that American I'd say. During the 2007 Osaka Championship she boasted about how good "the Jamaican genes" were so I guess she has not quite forgotten where she comes from. She's yet to win a gold medal at a major championships anyway, something that's quite prevalent among Jamaican athletes save for Deon Hemmings, Don Quarrie and Veronica Campbell.
I'm sure she's very much aware of her Jamaican roots. But as I said, Jamiaca actually has very little to do with her success. She went to a US high school. Ran for a US college and is now, rightfully, running for the US team. I know the chick was born in Jamaica, but she's quite definitely an American.
i was really shocked when i heard sanya richards wont be in osaka, thats really bad and totally dissapointing for her, i wanted to see her in osaka running really fast...guess ill just have to wait till the olympics.
She's been out all season, indoor and out, sick. Her not making the team is far less shocking then how good she looks to only have 3 or 4 races under her belt for the years. I think she'll give Allyson Felix a real race in the 2.
@csportmaria olympic performance of sanya? Well... hate to say it but terrible strategy, terrible race plan, she went out soo hard, but now im glad she made that mistake, cause if you noticed, after beijing she changed all her race plan and now she starts at a normal pace and gives it all in the last 100, like she did in berlin, and won. ;)
Yeah, I find it disappointing that she doesn't run for Jamaica. Anyway, I just read she failed to qualify for the World Championships in the American trials, which comes as shocking after her stellar form in 2006.
she nice but im calling it now 2008 Francina McCrory will win the gold medal and break world record. BETHEL HIGH SCHOOL STAND UP SHE RUN 51 INDOOR HER SENIOR YEAR IN HIGH SCHOOL AND SLOWED UP CAUSE AINT WANNA BREAK 50 AT THAT MEET.
you damn right......FRAN is running for HU for now but i gurantee she got the 4 or 2 NCAA champs.........shes a great runner but i think she needa get those collegiate titles first before she goes to pro. If she does go pro right away people goin expect soo much from her and its goin b alotta pressure....but watch out FRANS commin......lmao
I would have thought she'd be more excited about going under 49, it's such a rare and amazing achievement.
