I'll never forget my old school. At the time I didn't realise, but it's true, they were the best days of my life, and I can never revisit the buildings with all those memories in them, the history.

I miss that school.

I started off feeling quite sentimental about the old school where I got my arse caned until it bled in the headmaster's study but after 30 secs of this video I thought demolition was too kind. It was bad when I was there but christ at least we didn't have to put up with that sort of humiliation....

I went to Deacons in those distant days (just after the Romans left) of the early 1960's when it was a grammar school. The idea of a singing headmaster must make Mr Upcott-Gill spin in his grave!

The secret of doing well at school in those days was to excel in Cricket, Rugby and Latin

Best years of my life at this place, I'll never forget it. At the time I thought I had it real hard being at school and all, but boy how I'd love to go back to those wonderful days! Long live deacons, the building may have gone but the memories will always remain!
