Hi gmhxu6, many thanks for your comments, i'm a little on the older side, but at heart i'm a boy who never grew up when it comes to cars, since the video i changed the rocker covers to black alloy covers, looks the part.
Awesome set up mate! I have been eyeing these off since YT first bought them in as a replacement for the L67's factory M90. Now I own a HQ 1 tonner this just looks like all sorts of fun and as you said awesome driveability and fuel economy. They should be factory fitted. lol
Hi WLD18L. I've spent so much on it including the 6 speed road race manual conversion that i really need to spend some money on the exhaust when i can afford it, it's 2.5 at the moment it needs to be 3 inch with hi flo cats. All the best with your project you will be pleasantly surprised, are you running a manual or auto, because the torque will be hard on an auto.
Hi sorry to have taken so long to respond.i've been away on holidays. i believe the the YT 4081 is the 1.5 litres of air per revolution, where the YT 4082 2.4 litres of air per revolution. Thats why the 4082 is better for higher displacement engines, doesn't run out of puff.
Thanks for you comment MrFiveLeeeta, sorry for not having posted more videos to you and 1toflylj who have requested them, lifes really busy at the moment, glad you like my project, now that the manual conversion has been done , i'm pretty happy, the car has more toe than a Roman Sandel.
@timwashere Yes, which is 4984cc the old 308 was 5047cc. They changed them in 1984 to change classes in the Aussie Touring cars because 5000cc was the cut off
thanks toyvt8 for the comments, the manual conversion has really stepped it up another level. waited 21/2 years for it, so i decided to get the charger polished hopes it's not over the top.
Hi 1980andyw you are right thats the shit all us 5 litre guys have been waiting for, this baby has some mumbo for a std 5 litre will see what i can do for you for future video.
Oh wow thats the shit The 304 FINALLY gets a decent charger kit for it instead of that shithouse M90. Please post a video of some accelleration runs would love to see them!! great job
Hi i have just had the car converted to a 6 speed manual and drove it back from Queeensland last October and consistantly got 11 litres per 100k's hope this helps.
hey top job, i know that you arn't thinking about fuel economy but i was just wondering what it gets? as i am trying to decide what to put into my HX pano and I want to drive it most days so its got to be reasonable. unfortunately.
Hi pasticheny, i can't be exactly sure off the top of my head because i brought as a complete package, plus i upgraded the air box to the 90mm throttle body, polished supercharger, polished rear intake, dyno and tune work, a guess on my part would be 3-4k, might sound a lot but is was drive in drive out no problems. Could you tell me when you brought your kit and let me know what serial number they are upto. Cheers.
G'day. i have no mechanical back ground at all thats why i had to have HPF do the work, so i can not give you any advice as to you being able to fit the unit or not, however i would suggest you give Matt at Yella Terra a call he may have a better idea than me, thanks fataljed for you comment about the car, and good luck.
Hi, i'm sure you won't be disappointed, who's doing the fitment, also is it going in a auto or manual and what serial number are they upto. Could you get back to me when you have had time to play and let me know what you think.
@TheBlownv8 mine is a manual, i also have some 3.9 diff gears to go in it and lsd has been shimmed. i had some Jp dual idler timing gears put in too still havent got it back yet cant wait to hear it and see what it goes like! think i might need resistors for the knock sensor before i can drive it cos of the gears, but when i get it back and tune it on the dyno i will let you know the figures and how it goes
Thanks for looking, you may need to contact Matt at HPF for that, i believe it was fabricated by George. next project is late august, auto manual conversion tr 6060 6 speed transmission, big clutch with new 3.73 diff ratio, really going to be slippery.
Thanks for your interest mate. it made a very modest 255 rwkw and around 550 nm
of torque, 9 psi boost. other than intercooling which should take it over the 300 mark,
i won't be doing any thing else, motor is stock std, shortly i will be doing a 6 speed manual conversion with 3.73 diff. 12 years ol with 62k's on the clock but the auto is starting to tell the strain after 5000k's the torque improvement is magic.
Hi dude , thanks for looking, it is fun to drive but i haven't given it heaps yet, and won't be until i get the transmission done. The torque is great.
@strungoutoz Sorry it's not to your liking but i done it for Jim at Yella Terra ,you may have used the link from their web page, it's only to show off the final job, as a promotional video of their product. And yes it was fitted by HPF. You do pay a premium for drive in drive out with no problems, good people to do bussiness with.
Yea man, i don't know at this point, when, if any will happen. Sorry

cheers for the quick reply mate!
this is the plan!
yella terra 2.4 whipple blower
pacey try ys, twin hi flow cats and full twin 2.5 inch system.
bigger injectors and bigger intake fuel pump
stengthened and shift kitted auto with stall converter to match the blower
3.9 diff gears, either freshen up my lsd by shimming it or just buy a reco diff with 3.9s and a spool?
thats the direction im heading in anyways.
