  • Your videos are very helpful.

  • so sweet...kdenlive is in pkg mgr.

thanks for all the help, really.

    keep it coming...lol.

  • yea the kdenlive in the synaptic might be buggy. So if u get alot of crashes. U might want to get the newest version form their site.

  • oh, no i see ubuntu

  • oh, i love getdeb. that was easy, i think i will give them money....are you using ubuntu? KDE, right?

  • so, i will try the getdeb now and see if that works.

cinelerra used to be in synaptic pkg mgr and it is gone and a real bitch to install because all the information available is outdated.

they updated kino and screwed it up...the cuts are not very fine and it takes 3x as long to get it right....

i am hurting over here..........lol.........what a pain in the ass.

  • If u need a Video editor. The easiest one is Kdenlive. Try to get the newest version from the kdenlive site. Hope u no how to add a PPA repo if not u can check my old videos on that

  • well, here is what i ended up trying to do.

i was using 8.04 because the original 9.04 was no good for me. i cannot upload images to sites- ie. squidoo, or even my own sites. had to use gftp. no biggie, except for squidoo...so, i just reinstalled 9.04 and i see they have tweaked it, so maybe it is fixed?

anyway, so i went back to smile with 9.04 and used the package installer to install and i hoped it would work. but i am now getting a smile-data error....

  • yes u need to download both DEB files and install the data 1st then the other one 2nd. Is just how it works =)

  • i have spent the last two hours trying to install the package and i think i give up. if it is not in the synaptic package manager, i don't use it.........lol.........ok, maybe i am a dumbass.

i watched a bunch of how to videos and none are working. it looks like it is doing it, but nothing ever shows up under sound/video.

    i just don't know.....

  • loL u can go to the 'getdeb' website and download the DEB files and install that way.

  • can you make a jpg movie with this?

  • trying using the program 'SMILE' if u wanna do slideshows 1st then use this to make DVD

  • Hi, how do you burn the iso? What program to use?

  • think they got gnome baker, brasero, k3b for burning

  • Ok thanks for the video, but you could make it shorter and faster. Nice vid, learned a lot.

  • hey if i got some downloaded movies

with my ps3 and i want a make them

    into dvd is that possible?

  • This could have been a little shorter, but it's not bad.

  • what do I do when my iso file is done?

  • burn to disc?

  • thanks. i've done it!

  • When i drag my movie into title 1 it says: File doesn't seem to be a video file. Why ?

  • hey since ur makin a video dvd.....y did u make is into an ISO file??? isnt it ment to be a disk structure?????

and also didnt u ajust the disk usage to 99%? makin it 99% means it increases da quality rite?

  • (rong typin)

    y didnt u ajust...*

  • becuz u have to encode it 1st. Which can take long thats why u make an ISO so u can burn later when is done. 99% is just the max disc space. Bitrate is the 1 that determines quality depending on ur starting source.

  • is diz a freeware?? or shareware?

can i use it 4 free??? plz reply me

  • Is called open source software =)

All linux software is usually free. So this be free also.

  • thanks man, i love this fucking program.

  • Uh, if you convert formats encoding at a higher bitrate will look better than at a low bitrate...

  • lols not if u got a source bitrate thats 1005 and if u upscale to 5000 it will look whack. Is like saying convert ur mp3 to flac it dont make sense.

  • But you're converting from an mpeg4 video format to a mpeg2 video format. To make the same picture quality you need a higher bitrate. That's WHY most DVDs are 4 GIGs and most Divx movies are 1 GIG or less.

  • Theres always gonna be a little lost in quality when u converting. However upscaling from ur source bitrate will only hurt. If u scale down then it makes sense, like orginal DVD to Divx. Cuz ur source file was the DVD, which has a higher bitrate then a divx.

  • Is from high to low, not low to high. This is for video settings so u want the source to be the same cuz then it will just try to move it over to the new container and not actually convert much. If u put it higher or lower it will convert more and like i said b4 the more u convert something the more u lose something in the process.

  • Simple tutorial, straight forward and to the point. Good job.

    Cool cursor btw.
