ugh i hate the winters here and being on base sucks. but the town is quite and safe just get boring after awhile and it seems like if you're not blonde or Norwegian... some people are prejudice towards you and im not the only one that thinks this way, most military wives agree with me. Never the less, a nice town with everything close by.
I was in the Air Force but not here. Knew some guys who were there though and they said it really sucked...the base and AF that is. They had to hump some B52's in that weather. Being in the AF and a civillian is a world apart.
Love it here. Lived in a lot of different places in my life. I keep comming back here. I think its beautiful. and the cold keeps MOST of the riff raff out....
The beauty of Minot wasn't outside. It was inside with the great people who live there and their Swedish and Norwegian backgrounds. I hated the town, but loved the people. Minot 70-74. You should have experienced it back then! Not enough parkas to go around. Long walk to the dining hall and the BX. WWII equipment to work with. And that stupid Mouse River flooded every spring. God bless all the wonderful people who live in Minot. I laugh at Illinois when school closes for 4" of snow.
Just think, with the Global Warming thing kicking in this will be the New Florida in 2136.
