Marlon was little when J5 first startted, and I don't think the singing and dancing came as easily to Marlon as it did Michael. He got alot of beatings according to Michael, and he didn't have a childhood either. I wonder why it didn't seem to effect Marlon or Randy like it did Michael. None of the brothers had much of a childhood! Sad so sad

Yes - Back in the day - especially on the Jacksons Variety Show - Marlon did look like he'd missed a few rehearsals - they'd changed the whole routine and he was still trying to do whatever they did before the change he missed.

I LOve Michael, but Marlon has always been my favorite of the Jacksons. He really nailed it with this album. He had a second album that was due out around the same time as 2300 Jackson St., which explains why he was'nt in the video with the family for the song 2300 Jackson St. . He was on a promo in New York . I don't think the album was released . Either way, Marlon is tops with me.
Your absolutely right, and it makes me so happy that, there is more people out there that was following Marlon back then. The 2nd album that was coming out was goin to be produced by M.C. Hammer, but Hammer was dropped by Capitol and so was Marlon. That would of boosted Marlon's career so much, Hammer and Marlon was friends and respected each other so much and Marlon has so much respect for Hip Hop and Street Dancing, He always kept up on the latest moves that people were doing.
I think most of Marlon's dancing problems was before they really became famous. According to Mike, because Marlon messed up so much, Joe made him watch Mike dance and told him to 'do it like Mike.' That's must have sucked being the older brother and all. But looking at their earlier performances, shiiiiiiiiiiiit, I think the student surpassed the teacher. Marlon was a much better dancer. I wish he were still an active performer.

I agree. I don't think Marlon copied at all. Marlon's style and posture was better in my opinion. Mike was up front ALL the time and had a great voice so people focused on him. That's why all the rest were so underrated (especially Marlon and Tito).

Yeah, it is basically friendly competition between them, they are the 2 best dancers of the group and family. Marlon;s role in the group is dancer and kind of Mikes second, so when Mike is not available Marlon usually takes over because he performs very similar to Mike, And Marlon knows pretty much most of Mikes moves and Mike knows pretty much of Marlon;s a lot of what you see of Marlon moves are influenced by James Brown and Jackie Wilson, and Mike and Marlons influences are much the same.

Michael sometimes had a little hair, but never a mustache, which is just as well, it wouldn't of suited him. It would of looked funny, a big mustache like Marlons. I'm glad Janet didn't get into the look either, but Latoya could of given it ago. BTH The Jacksons are a awesomely talented family. Even when they talk, they could be singing. I am broken up and heart broken what happened with Miked, all though this was billed Micheal's This Is It Tour, I still wanted to present the ideals of The Jackson all coming back together again as a group with a new album, maybe there first one back without Micheal and then on the next one get Mike back in the mix. Now we never see that magic of all the brothers performing together again. But the remaining 5 can still keep performing and make records and keep The Jacksons Legacy alive.

I LOve Michael, but Marlon has always been my favorite of the Jacksons. He really nailed it with this album. He had a second album that was due out around the same time as 2300 Jackson St., which explains why he was'nt in the video with the family for the song 2300 Jackson St. . He was on a promo in New York . I don't think the album was released . Either way, Marlon is tops with me.

Your absolutely right, and it makes me so happy that, there is more people out there that was following Marlon back then. The 2nd album that was coming out was goin to be produced by M.C. Hammer, but Hammer was dropped by Capitol and so was Marlon. That would of boosted Marlon's career so much, Hammer and Marlon was friends and respected each other so much and Marlon has so much respect for Hip Hop and Street Dancing, He always kept up on the latest moves that people were doing.

I think most of Marlon's dancing problems was before they really became famous. According to Mike, because Marlon messed up so much, Joe made him watch Mike dance and told him to 'do it like Mike.' That's must have sucked being the older brother and all. But looking at their earlier performances, shiiiiiiiiiiiit, I think the student surpassed the teacher. Marlon was a much better dancer. I wish he were still an active performer.

@smileytheshiningstar How right you are, most people do not get that, his problems was way before they got famous, by the time he was 12 performing I Want You Back and ABC Marlon was already an amazing dancer. People took saw a movie took it out of context, and starting getting the story wrong. Marlon has always been an excellent excellent dancer, a lot of his dance influences was James Brown, Jackie Wilson that you see in his dance style. I agree. I don't think Marlon copied at all. Marlon's style and posture was better in my opinion. Mike was up front ALL the time and had a great voice so people focused on him. That's why all the rest were so underrated (especially Marlon and Tito).

Yeah, it is basically friendly competition between them, they are the 2 best dancers of the group and family. Marlon;s role in the group is dancer and kind of Mikes second, so when Mike is not available Marlon usually takes over because he performs very similar to Mike, And Marlon knows pretty much most of Mikes moves and Mike knows pretty much of Marlon;s a lot of what you see of Marlon moves are influenced by James Brown and Jackie Wilson, and Mike and Marlons influences are much the same.
