As I see in video the metering indicator on your camera appears only in Manual Mode. On my camera it appears all the time so in Aperture Mode camera of course selects that shutter speed which makes indicator to be on zero but I can still change it and it will move to - or +. The same is in Shutter Speed Mode. I can change aperture without EV.
You can still change shutter speed while in aperture mode, cannot you? You don't have to adjust EV down or up. If you rotate the button which changes shutter speed in manual mode it will change it in aperture mode as well.
I gotta say I wasn't too sure on your commentry at first but as the minutes rolled in I found myself captivated with your knowlege & realised that you got the know how to produce excellent results. Cheers!
Con, you are pretty lucky dude where you live as you always seem to have great sunsets and sunrises i believe this makes it easier, however i believe if like me you don't have the luxury of living in a warm climate it makes you as a photographer work harder to be more creative in the field, peace dude and great great vids man, love ya
Thanks! I have a D90 and have been playing with a lot of those settings trying to figure out what i like. Do you ever go smaller than f/16? Like F/22+? obviously depends on focal length too. You would think that even smaller would be even sharper...any comment on that?
how about the sharpening?

@bboylilsoul for landscape it is important to have a tripod, for long exposures where you cat hand hold the camera.

you should ignore the iso settings below 200 as its not a true iso.

What is better for landscape photography? A 18-55 or a 55-200?

a 200 can be good too if you want to cut out something at the corners but are unable to move.

there is a setting, atleast on D80, which allows you to adjust shutter even in A-mode.

do you shoot jpeg or raw, I ask this because you do in camera picture control?
roger767 2 years ago
I shoot jpeg, simply because I prefer not to post process all my images.

lorikzzz 2 years ago
post processing is using photoshop to correct or manipulate your images.

diffraction sets in by f/16 and therefore image quality past f/16 is not that great.
QQQQcon 2 years ago
Awesome! I just did some research on that. Thanks! Very informative :-)
