Yes Mike Todd was a great Love of elizebeths but she had such a fierce Love for Richard Burton and I believe it was due to his resemblence to Mike and his attitude towards her. Mike Todd looks as if he is in total bliss as he holds his wife, Elizabeth, and daughter, Liza. You can really tell they're all he wanted in the world and to make them happy. I heard that Liz wanted to be buried next to Richard Burton, but his wife at the time said no. I can't help but wonder if she then decided to be placed with Mike, as he is the father of her daughter? The video is named, "Mike Todd", not "Around The World in 80 Days", a film that he made before ever meeting Elizabeth. I suggest that you rent the DVD to get the true experience of the film. It is quite good.

You are a bit confused. Joan Blondell and Mike Todd were divorced for many years before he met Elizabeth. Though he did break off his engagement with Evelyn Keyes to marry Elizabeth. Yes, Eddie was married to Debbie and had an affair with Elizabeth and Richard Burton was married to Sybil Burton when he fell in love with Elizabeth.

she was beautiful I will give her that but she was a home wrecker. First Mike Todd from Joan Blondelle and then Eddy fisher from Debbie Reynolds. There is nothing beautiful about that not to mention Mike Todd was the spitting image of Richard Burton thus they married. Pay attention to all of the Hollywood fakes and see it's all a game . I read in a bibliography on her that M.Todd was the love of her life. Had she not lost him she wouldn't have been with Burton (though I love him too). Its just sad. So much heartache Liz. We still love you.

I admire Liz Taylor for her courage, talent and beauty. I read that when her close friend Monty Clift had the auto accident and Liz arrived on the scene of the crash, she actually climbed inside the car through a broken window to help her friend, who was lying under the dashboard choking in blood and broken teeth. She reached into his mouth with her fingers and removed the broken teeth from the back of his throat where they had lodged . She actually saved his life.

I think she was herself very courageous, brave, not fearless but really full of moral courage, and physical too. She said it was a matter of adrenaline (maybe. Only she can know but i think it was a good and courageous heart and her love to her friend) but what she did for Clift and saving him not everyone would have done. And it was before meeting Todd: on May 12, 1956.

She didn't need Todd's 'boldness' to be courageous, i think.. :)

@xmccallum: Interesting to note that Elizabeth had two near death experiences (NDEs) during several of her many illnesses/ops. During the 2nd NDE she said (on TV) that she saw her dear husband Todd, dressed in white & he spoke to her. He told Liz that she had to go back as her time was not up, she still had things to do. Words to that effect. I'm sure this included establishing her AIDS Foundation, helping many ill ppl this way. She has always been a very compassionate & Kind-hearted person.

He was insecure & just didnt want her to have children by anyone else. He was also suspected of murdering his 1st wife. Elizabeth Taylor sure knew how to pick'em.
