Like with George Lucas and John Williams, this composer is so much greater than the movie itself. He takes the tune from the beginning - a plaintive little song from a small child - and turns it into this wonderful, defiant battle hymn. Even with Keira Knightly chewing scenery and screeching at the camera it's an awesome moment in the movie.

I still get chills seeing and hearing the blood curling cries and watching the dreaded skull and cross bones fly. It was this feeling to all merchantmen that saw on the horizon a ship flying those colors. The Black flag was the plague flag that warned others to stay clear death was aboard and could clam all who approached.
