Guys stop slamming. Both of these products are really good for learning with. They are mildly cheap and mostly reliable. The RMX is completely reliable. Virtual DJ mostly reliable. Neither are great for more than small house parties and stuff. So If you're just starting out, have a tight budget, and are practicing and only having small parties at first this is good.
stop digital vinyl.. keep real vinyl alive... stop downloading.. suport your local record store.. suprort the dj culture.. dig! have fun.. suport the love of VINYL>. dont let this digital age kill us...
had this as my first controller... good.. but not quick access to looping functions. however, it felt really natural using it. i had no problems with the sound card and the sound quality is good.
the sound card is HORRIBLE!!! it crashes alot ive had 3 diffrent computers it always malfunctions. and i had good computers.macbook pros.. good for bigginers but dont use it live. i spin vinyl on serato
Agree, sound card is not the greatest. I just got an M-Audio Fast Track Pro, which sort of makes we wish I got the Steel (or a Vestax VCI-100 :P).
The controls are OK, I've been using it for a while and it is still working fine. One thing I don't like is the sensitivity of the pitch fader, its a bit too coarse (I mainly do manual beatmatching).
babooningsten.that is the worst advice i have ever heard.you got it the wrong way around if you are a beginner start out on vinyl then move on to cdjs and when you are pretty advanced move on to lap top mixing.i would recommend the vestax vci
if ur a beginner dj i definately recomend to get this product. den wen getting more pro u can hook up either two cd players or turntables and use the RMX as a mixer.
since this has an asio driven sound card built in.....can you have two turntables connected to a mixer, and then run to the rmx and then to the computer? id rather get this than get scratch live. IF it works that is.
I have the ICDX and I have the Hercules rmx, but i don't know how to use both of them at the same time with vitual dj,,, can you give me some advices..please...
Hi! Is it true that you have to get a Pro version of virtual dj 5 and pay something like 100 euros extra( im in europe) in order to record ur mixes ? Or can you still record with the version u get with the product?
Are you 100% sure? because I asked this question to someone else and they said yes it can be done. I also saw another review of it and the guy said it can be done.

I have one and I like it so much!
I don't have any problem with the sound card.
I think the problem is with the software.
I don' t like Virtual DJ. It's so unstable and the audio it's not so good.
I prefer Traktor. It's so much better.

tks989 3 years ago
They are not touch sensitive.
You can scratch, but it continues to play when u hold them still.
That means it's NOT touch sensitive.
DjSuperPimp 3 years ago
is it important to have touch sensitive?
zowaldini 3 years ago
not really. it just for scratching and it is just a little perk. u can still scratch good with this
