Great to see the original edit of this video! I was a camera assistant on this. It was a 2 day shoot, Nite club owned by Prince in downtown LA. Interesting to read below on why Janet wasn't in the video. She really isnt..all doubles. Film crew was told a different story. Janet's entourage of her personal make up, wardrobe and security staff were going to put the project over budget...Since it was a Herb Albert video she wasnt asked to the shoot..and they found a creative way around it.

Janet wasn't in the video because ,She said that she was very sick at the time the video was shot so she coudn't particicapate in it. So Herb Albert suggested putting in a look-alike to have her presents in the video.

I heard that Janet didn't want to upstage the video which was why she chose not to be in it. Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis wanted the video to be about Herb Alpert and not Janet Jackson. That was why she wasn't in the video.
