  • I wish you guys would have focused on body positivity more. I find it hard to relate to this as someone who is not recognized as the way media and "gay" culture depicts beauty and marginalizes non-ideal body shapes in the community. I do like the issues you tackle. I hope I can see it soon.

  • I just was this at columbia yesterday.

  • I fucking love it. I saw this movie when I was 16 when it came to Portland, Maine and the friend I saw it with made me a t-shirt that says "love revolution, not state delusion." He also dressed up as the character with fishnets on their head for Halloween.

Seriously... this movie may have changed my life. It was my first exposure to such a radical view on marriage/heteronormativity.

    Thank you!!

  • Holy shit!!how come I'm just seeing this shit?!?!? I've been screaming at my desk in my office!!The cinematography is off the fucking hook..

signed, another supportive hetero for undoing the evil Empire and Love Revolution!!

By the way, I know most these folks(and anticpate getting my ass kicked by at least a few of them in the not too distant future since I've yet to watch the whole film) They are ANYTHING but radical chic rich kids...get your facts straight!

  • not bossy. "should always" is simply referring to the inherint meaning of a queer position. If you dont want to be oppositional sit under your rainbow flags and carry on just being a mainstream gay...

  • all i'm saying is that by including all those queer identities within the institution of marraige we are normalising 'other' identities into acceptable heteronormativity. Even if marraige does include gay partnerships now it is still gender normative and inheriantly binary. a queer position should always be the 'other' in opposition to dominanting concepts of marriage.

  • "should always" how very bossy.

  • Marriage used to be inherently hetero and monogamous, but now there are Gay Marriages, weird Mormon Group Marriages, and lets not forget our friends the Swingers with their groovy Open Marriages. Turn, and face the change, ch-ch-ch-changes!

  • This is a joke.

  • I've seen this whole "movie" and it stinks. It's an the work of a bunch of radical chic rich kids who've managed to parrot a bunch of psued-leftist slogans they learned at university. Tired, tired, tired, and totally reactionary.

  • isn't reactionary politics the whole point of a radical queer position that will always be in opposition to concepts of queer utopias and discourses of enlightenment?? Isn't the point of this very subjectivity to make a political reality of this theoretical position??

  • They think marriage is despicably bourgeois, but c'mon... nothing Elizabeth Taylor did EIGHT TIMES can be ALL bad.

  • It's not about being bourgois, It's about being inherintly heterosexal and monogomous.

  • so you know all these radical chic rich kids? im just curious. i would love to know more about the people who made this film...

  • awesome! can't wait to see the whole deal!

  • great movie! it's a must see--campy, sexy, radical, and Dolly to boot!
