  • one reason to be ashamed to be called Austalian!

How these diggers were treated on there return from Vietnam.

I know of one Vet who was forced to go by our government and on his return he was spat in the face by a civilian on his return..

and then worst of all had to find his own way bak to perth from the east!

  • thats fucking wrong hey man! Grrr makes me so mad!

  • I think all Vietnam vets were treated like that by their own countries. Including the Americans.

  • Excellent video, check out a better live acoustic version at

  • hey i made a video just like this! for kokoda at school!

    its on my account!

  • good job mate'

  • The lesson of Vietnam is that whatever war you send you lads too - popular or unpopular, right or wrong - you never blame the troops.

We have the politicians and we the seething masses to blame for that.

    Sorry boys and never again.

    Lest we forget

  • i onour and austrialn troops not matter wat war

  • removes hat.

  • one word heros

  • Not often a song can mean so much good for them

  • Still don't understand the controversy of why Viet vets was looked down upon by the Aust people when the Aust, Govt sent them to fight. To me you are all heroes. Great job done in Vietnam.

  • the only reason they were looked down upon was because we didnt actually 'Win' Vietnam, in my opionon, its sick that they were looked down upon

  • Poor barstards sent to do a shit job. But they did a shit job well.

  • these men fought and died for us,

    no truer heroes than that

  • AMEN!!!

  • i am in australian navy cadets as a seaman and we all salute the diggers every time we have cadets.

  • HEROES!!!

  • Poor Normie Rowe

  • Great video. Under the statistics and data part, Australian Artillary is not working.

  • these war heroes are true heroes not these sporting wankers

  • bahhv2 who sang this song

  • Redgum

Look to the left at related videos, the first video should say Redgum - I was only 19 (1983)

  • My dads a vet and im a proud son. To my dad and all other vets, fallen or returned good on ya. You should all hold your heads high as i do in your honour.

  • Thank you boys ur service you lads have done, has made the country we have today

  • Yeah...a 21 yo acting like a 12 yo.

    What a punk.

  • oh, someone's 12yr old is loose on the net!!

  • Hey cunt. Leave us your address. We want to visit your little pussy ass.

  • Thanks to all who protect our great land and travel to ensure our way of life continues. ANZAC day shouldn't be the only day we remember. Age shall not weary them.

At the going down of the sun we shall remember. Lest we forget

  • we should remember them each and every day

  • So ironic: Brave & innocent young men & women pay the price for the actions of old men & women who, we foolishly believe have the wisdom to lead & guide us. It repeats over & over.

    WE LOVE OUR TROOPS!!

    WE LOVE OUR VETS!!

  • To our friends the Aussies and Kiwis that helped; THANK YOU- WELCOME HOME! My dad was a pilot,he flew you guys around-he was a "Rattler'. He spoke highly of you guys. While ARVN's didn't want to go fight, and Americans were sometimes late, the Aussie's were always on time and ready. They were ferocious fighters too. Thanks, may God bless you all.

  • My dad is as stuanch as the day he returned,

but troubled like a lot of them.

so so proud i sit and cry

  • my uncle was killed in this war my dad survived

  • As a bush butt boy, I take offense to any truthful or factual statements you reasonable moderates might make.

  • i just want to say that im very proud of our Austarlian troops who served in vietnam as they are are true heros as they done alot for our country but the stupid government treated the diggers like shit as they deserved alot of respect and dignaty as my father did time in vietnam as he was in the RAAF in SOUTH AUSTRlIA but served with the one thirteenth US rangers as i truly do respect our vietnam vets well done and welcome home and god bless.

  • We who fought in Nam that made it home are really not home for we are still there and we will never leave. for some they just surive like they learned in nam. others act like every thing is fine. a nam vet is an actor and gets by.

  • Everything has its price thank god we have people willing to pay it

  • I have had the opertunity to meet the gunner on the huey in this movie.I have found him to be a very special friend. But this war has left him with very deep scars that still bleed at times.Thank god he made it out alive or is he ? I am very proud of all the guys who fought this terrible war,

  • Thanks to the blokes who served in Vietnam without complaining!! they did a good job against a tough and determined enemy! this song makes me proud to be a Aussie and it makes me proud of our defence force, if i could serve I would but I can't because I'm deaf!

  • love this song..cant wait to join the adf..

  • I am pround that Australia and the United States are such strong and great allies.

... I was only 19 when I served in Vietnam.

    -- Bill Morris

    USAF Vietnam Veteran, 1969-1970

  • Growing up with a father who was a door gunner on Huey gunships showed me the effects Vietnam had on troops there. Strangely enough though he doesn't go to Anzac parades,,,feels it glorifies war and brings back too many memories off troops dying in his chopper.

  • Simply Great Peter. Veterans Never get the Recognition They Rightfully Deserve. The Idiot

Protestors, Why are We Sending our Troops Over

There. The Answer to these Idiots is, So that You, and the Rest of Your Yellow Belly Bastards, Can Walk our Streets in Peace Carrying a Poster to Denounce The Very People

That are Paying for Your Worthless Freedom.

Thank You Peter, For another Job Well Done. John B

  • Yep did know that mate, but there was also a Maori war against the Mau Maus as well. This was fought in the early 1890's and a regiment was raised from Victoria and NSW, although they still fought under the British flag, they are officially recognised as being one of our first locally raised regiments to go to war.

  • i like the photo of the sapper and his dog we some times forget the brave incinet animals that help us on a daly basis good work but i had a tear in my eye when i watched this vidieo clip

  • good on ya, as its said, those who chose to forget end up repeating history all over again and finding out the hard way.

  • at least there are some people put there who care, im ex army, i joined at 16-9months, people dont understand the flack we cop, and now australia is so multicultural its getting more and more frownd upon(defence force)...

  • "It is foolish to mourn such men, but we should instead give thanks that such men lived."

Thank you to all the Diggers past and present who have and continue to serve our country and way of life.

  • Did you know that since 1890 we are second behind England in the amount of wars or military actions we have fought in. Our first army regiment was sent to NZ to fight the Maoris in the Mau Mau wars, right up to our present day engagement in Afghanistan, Iraq, Bouganville, Solloman Islands, East Timor etc etc.

You do us proud guys. Thank you and God Bless

I apologise for all the fuckwits who treated you like shit when you returned.

"At Heavens gate the soldier before St Peter stood,

St Peter said come in my son, come and be well,

cos my son, you've already served time in Hell.

  • I wasn't even born until the late 80's but I thank you for what you did. I wish more people my age would realize that war is hell and take a moment to thank those that fought and those that never returned.
