radeon is faster and more stable this card can compete with a 280 anytime though the 280 has better clock speeds crossfire and extrodernary gpu speeds for that card makes them even in a way but 9800gt cant compete with this

ATI 4850 you mean :D This equivalates to the gtx 260m and in some cases performs as well as 280m :D and the 4850 can be crazily overclocked (yes, thats right, on a laptop :P)

Dude give it a break...he doesnt exactly want to be smashing it around the place, the machine isnt the firmest built thing in the world, so you have to be careful, its build quality is good but not indistructable.

It is light for a 17 incher though, i'l give it that.

Yeah man that sucks, i think mine also may be on its way but im not too sure, i cant go past 540/890 on Overdrive where people can go full clocks, i have a faint whine 24/7, i have heard it so much i hear it in my sleep! And the speakers are crackling at 50% so shouldnt be happening.

I opened up fall out 1 day and it rendered everything in low detail when set to ultra...worried me.

I may try for a refund and get your MSI model :)

I did have a G series 1722 ID2 with a Q9100, it was very fast but the 9600m GT was the bottleneck. I sold it and got the Sager 9262 with the 9800m GTX in SLI with a Q9650. Its a beast at 15 pounds..

i paid £1125 in uk not much custom job u can do when u buying but if u want u can stick a ssd drive. upgrade the cpu to quad core. but u ll lose the warrenty. there is a new model coming out with x9000 and 1920x1200 res

Don't feel too bad about the screen's 1050. I reckon it's more than enough and quite perfect for BluRay. The only reason you you'd want higher rez is maybe for CAD work.
