More sharks get killed by humans then sharks do humans every year. people shouldn't disturb the shark or anything and humans aern't the sharks regular food. They don't exactly "eat" people. People die after being attacked by a shark is because of bleeding to death after the shark let's them go. Usually a shark attacks cause people piss it off or it does not know what you are.

There are very few shark attacks a year actually. More people get killed by bees than sharks. Also, yes, they could have not touched it at all. But they weren't being malicious or trying to hurt it or anything. Also, I doubt us "pissing" them off is why a shark would attack a person years down the road. A couple of points -

The shark in question is a Bamboo shark and is about fully grown.

These sharks rest during the day under rocks or coral and come out at night to feed, mostly on small crustaceans such as crabs. While at rest, they can pump water over their gills using their mouths and do not need to keep swimming to breathe like some larger sharks.

Lastly, I would not condone anyone I dived with hooking a shark out of its resting place like this.
