Ok guys cause i feel totally stupid...I've downloaded Joomla 1.7 and the latest version of Xampp...My problem is : "Could not connect to the database. Connector returned number: 2 ".I've made sure that i created the database on phpmyadmin but nothing works...Any ideas....???Thank you
I follow the tutorial but got an error "Could not connect to the database. Connector returned number: Unable to connect to the Database: Could not connect to MySQL.
@novamary i have the same problem sometimes, but right now i tried to fix it, created a diffrent mysql database and tried to connect it, but now it only shows an error that my database doesnt exist and i CANT EVEN OPEN MY WEBSITE, cant even go to my admin board to change the database, nothing! So im reinstalling joomla =\
@novamary Maybe you havent created a databse to connect to? (If that's the case)Go into mysql and create it, then provide the joomla installer with this 3:
I get to 2:38 using MAMP, and then when i put in localhost/"my site name" I get nothing. The 1.6 pack is unpacked in the htdocs folder. Any suggestions?
@robfanguy Try using your sites (Compass icon) folders already in home. XAMPP lets me put stuff there and access it with this url -> //localhost/~yourhome/yournewfolder/
@poliplokos1 Welcome to Joomla :) When I first started learning it I never realised it was going to end up becoming my career! I make £30k a year from this puppy :P

Guys I suggest you use WAMP if your a windows user because it allows you to do more and does not have any vital restrictions.
