p.s. for the table saw push stick - i recommend using something that pushes from the back - and has a large-long surface to push down the wood to the table of the table saw - that way it's less likely to kick back to the face.
If that lathe was made in 1943 then that means it had to have been used. Even if it was unissued, it's probably just a refurb job done by the Russian military.
