  • i built mine out of corrogated aluminum instead of cans..construction is MUCH easier and i get 200dg F temps... If you shoot me a pm with your email address id be happy to give you the drawings.

  • Yes I probably blocked the air flow but will be the same air flow block for all the unit. This is not perfect. Is very difficult to do a good study when are some many variables and only have home resources.

  • Respectfully, you've REALLY blocked your air-flow with them sitting on the sill as they are.

Given the differences in the bottom, you may be greatly influencing your results due to this blockage!

  • What you need to do is try to find a sealant that will seal each can to each other. I'm niot sure if silicone would be good enough to do it. Some sort of sealant to seal per can to have a radiating effect through each can pushing from one row to the other until it reaches a hot air duct, releasing the hot air into the building. Should that distance be short as possible? Or should the hot duct be floor level, while cold air duct be high to achieve efficiency?

  • @fabfauna I seal each can with silicone use for car which is very high temperature.

  • @MrEnergyFree Cool, thanks for the reply

  • God but we are not so slow. It's enough to tell the information once not 2-3 times for each zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • This was a useful experiment. Shouldn't there be a test to compare where the top is not removed, and leave the ring hole? Also, as another comment, it would be interesting to see the results with the can INSIDE the downspout with no gluing of the cans together, to make construction simpler. Please consider these. This was very helpful.

  • Results have been uploaded in part 1 and part 2 videos.

  • removing the bottom and top and filling the cans with aluminum pot scrubbers...

  • Best video by far on this topic. I have opened fully top and bottoms of about 200 cans using the can opener method.

Now I wait for your results and hope the full open is a good performer!

I feel like I just bought a lottery ticket and hope I won.

  • Good idea but It could be too heavy for my solar panel.
