You might twist a brush stroke too much, or you draw too many things with one stroke..
A brush should not twist much, a stroke tip is "Put on paper and move down" only. and for the split problem, I guess you need little more water in a brush.
Kazushimure-san, can you give me a tip on how to bend the brush that way? When I try it, it always "pops back". Does it depend on the brush or on the thickness of the ink? Thank you very much!
1. Hair and body of brush keeps straight like a horizon. Don't never bend a brush hair.
2. Brush stroke must draw vertically. just stroke down
3. Take light ink color(much water and little ink) first into a brush on the ink stone, then gradually more heavy black(increase the vokume of sumi ink).
It's been a while since I've checked to see if you've added anything new since the last time I looked (I'm so forgetful) so this time I've subscribed so I won't miss out on anything. Watching your videos is SO relaxing.
love this--everyone does! Why isn't it "Going and Coming"?
You capture the spirit so well.

Also the tip always splits into separate hairs after the first brush stroke.

then, imagine a brush is a stamp having gradation ink, and drawing is put stamp on paper.
You mihgt better "put a brush on cloth" in order to wipe water just before starting drawing. You need water in a brush, though.
is it helpful????
