  • accompanementy Mozarthorn concerto 1/2/3/4/+rondo ----/zite/google/zaharofmusic/ если девочка каждый день будет играть с ассомпанементом то у неё всё будет гораздо лучше!!! желаю успехов!Zekovka 1988

  • Get a copy of the book titled, "The Art of French Horn Playing." by Phillip Farkas, former horn professor at Indiana University...I would say more than 50 percent of playing the French Horn is proper breath support...Make the horn an extension of your body...Like pulling water up through your legs that are placed in a water tub into your lungs then out your mouth through the entire horn and out the bell...

  • @fdx183 Thanks for the comments. Several people have had comments related to breath control. Farkas's book is a staple for all the horn players in our family. She is now a sophomore and plays with the San Francisco Symphony's Youth Orchestra. Every week she get a refresher on breath control from her coach from the SF Symphony horn section. Then she goes to her lessons and get a refresher from her teacher. Then she come home and get the speech from Dad. ---she's getting better. Thx.

  • Your tone is excellent...Learn to breath through not at the horn...Practice playing very long phrases. I couldn't tell by the video what technique you were using to breath..."stomach" or "chest"...Practice your breathing by placing your back to the wall and have someone place their hand over your stomach..While you inhale through the mouth, expand your stomach muscles which causes your friends hand to move outward...next page...

  • Seems that the player should have needed to practice this song couple more months since there are so many "easy" mistakes.. I never go to performance solo without being prepared 100% - and more, I always performance solos without notes, because I want to be sure I will succeess and there won't be unnecessary mistakes.

But there was lots of good things, too, especially in the 2nd part! :)

  • This really stincks, you need to practice a TON more.

  • amazing! I just want to point out how awesome you are. Also, I believe thats a double horn? Either way, still a great performance.

  • not that good for 4 years of practice. I have been playing since 3rd grade, and i have been playing better horn. Not to mention that there are still so many other better French Horn players than me or your spoiled excuse for a horn player. This solo has many wrong notes, and those "muffled notes."

  • @filliam63 I agree. There were a lot of mistakes. She make fewer now. As far as "spoiled excuse for a horn player", I'm not sure where you are coming from. Actually, why don't you share with me some of your videos so we can see what can really be done if you play horn right. Better yet, why don't you drop me a link to a "live" performannce so I can get a better idea of how Val should have performed.

  • @PianistSteve

    nice one,

forgive me I just wanna know is it a French Horn or just Horn?

  • @papagena1991 "Horn" is short for french horn:P

  • Also don't try to impress people with a long resume about how u traveled in an orchestra or awards...u impress people by ur performance...and I was not impressed...need practicing....

  • I understand that there are always notes missed in solo performance...but u messed up complete rythms..and I don't think u captured mozarts intentions...also add dynamics.......

  • I am very impressed with your playing. Your intonation, rythmn, and musical expression are excellent! It was truly a musical pleasure to listen to you. I hope that you continue to play the Horn. It's inspiring to all of us in classical music to see such fantasic talent at such a young age. I hope to see you in a major symphony someday and hear you onstage soloing in the concert hall!

    Sincerely and to your success,

    Roger Whitworth

Former Ass't principal horn, U.S. Marine Band, Wash,DC

  • You are AMAZING!!! I love you so much. I am 14 years old and learning this. I think you're great. You inspire me to practice more. Keep it up!!!

  • @maddyb4life : really, there are muffed notes. Actually at State CMEA there were far fewer wrong notes...in fact so few that she got a Gold Award and a Command Performance all at the ripe old age of 12 1/2. How old are you? How did you play this piece when you were twelve? Did you even know what a horn was when you were 12? You might also clean up your language...someone might take it offensively.
