  • maybe im simple minded, but i the entire talk has taken a back seat to the audience members comment at the very end: comparing 9/11 truthers to Holocaust denialists is very disingenuous.

  • Type in "trickbusters". 2 sceptics analysing magic from a critical thinking point of view and debunking all who pretend to have supernatural powers... MAGIC DOESN'T EXIST... ONLY TRICKS!

    TB.

  • Some really awful questions. Everyone's trying to push their political agenda.

  • where is he for this?

  • Very interesting. I'm going to have to read the book. The feeling I get from this talk is that I agree with Dr. Shermer on the broad themes, and disagree only on more specific points.

  • Watch what the bleep do we know? It explains where emotions come from. (its the brain(not god(gods not real)))

  • better yet, DON'T watch that batshit culty scam of a "movie" and instead buy one of Shermer's books.

  • The interviews in that are really thought provoking.

  • Wait a sec...

I finished the video and understand what Mr. Shermer is saying now. It all makes sense if God is only imaginary. =)

  • That's 'cause he IS imaginary.

  • Heh. I guess God loves us all up til after judgement day, which is when he watches atheists, gays and feminists getting torched in flames through his holy satellite TV.

  • satellite? God has cable, satellite is Satan's plaything ;D

  • He already knows which of us will be in Hell, so he can be extremely economical with his Love. Too bad we've never gotten a coherent message from him ^_^ I guess we'll all just have to wait and see which "right way" he likes most, and enjoy burning in Hell while feeling justified that we all did our best to make the right decisions.

  • What an inspiration. Gotta love this guy! :)

  • Very moving. This is a great insight into the inner workings of emotion-based decisions. ^^

  • FYI: The Philadelphia Association for Critical Thinking (phact dot org) was also a co-sponsor of this talk.

  • hmm cool watching now.

  • I'm only 20 minutes in to it. This guy is great
