The staff receives a more than fair wage. With there benefits package, they are probable receiving around 25-30K. This is not including the free tuition that they receive for there family members. Maybe they should have thought about getting an education from Miami so they would not be in their current situations. Quit bitching you liberal self righteous pricks.
SFS cracks me up. The students in SFS must have never had a real job. Miami employees start out making more than most unskilled factory workers make after 2 or 3 years. If they took two steps into the real world they would realize this. Instead they are brainwashed by their parents for 18 years and then get it for 4 more years at Miami. The funny part is when you see a SFS member whip out their $1500 laptop in class while their $250 iPod rests on their backpack.
mmt019, we all know you're still an employee at Miami. 8.95/ hour before taxes, free education for your family, and healthcare packages constitutes a good deal. Try living in the 3rd world making $0.25 in a sweatshop before you criticize Miami U. Let's put things into perspective, my friends.
Nope...I don't work there anymore. I got out into the "real world" making over 50% more and not expending alot of energy finding it. Srry to burst your bubble.
I used to work at Miami University. I worked in PFD. I've seen the money they piss away there on facilities. It made me sick. I could not afford to work there any longer. So I quit to work elsewhere for a 40 percent pay increase. I would never work there again as long as I can help it.
They spent over 2 million dollars to renovate the University Presidents house (Lewis Place). Was it necessary? They could have built a new place for much much much less than that. Oh well, just pass along the cost to the students and keep down the staff wages and that'll work itself out.
It seems all you southern hilbillies are brain washed if you think 8.00 is a decent wage...You gotta be fuckin kidding me..
