I agree and am happy that Within Temptation has gotten universal recognition. But I have to say from my perspective that I could never warm up to being under such a stressful atmosphere as a Global Recording star. I like things small and intimate with the occasional stadium festival in the Summer. I could never feel happy being on global wide entertainment programs and singing on stages rigged to explode with pyro.

They are not sell-outs. Metallica are sell-outs. When a band busts someone for downloading their music illegally, and then releases a Guitar Hero with tons of their music on it, that is a sell-out.

Just because WT's developed their sound more doesn't mean they've become sell-outs. It means they're realizing more what they want to sound like.

Maybe you just prefer the sound of the first couple albums, and that's leading you to make accusations?

Music has to evolve as people evolve otherwise while the tastes (cant spell) of the people in the band changed the sound wouldnt cahnge and they would end up hating themselves. We love thier music because they love it we conect with their musical soul.

lol firstly I dont understand how anyone can even compare NW, WT and Evanesance They are all different sounding the only thing they have in common is female vocalists further more not one of these bands (and I love them all for different reasons) are pop, poppish or pop sounding at all! pop singers also tend to not write their music while these bands write each of their own songs which makes it more moving and more powerful. Appreciate each band for what they are!

If you want metal with perfectly trained classical female vocals, check out the early work by The 3rd And The Mortal ("Sorrow EP" and "Tears laid in earth"), when Kari was doing the singing.

Although I do enjoy W.T. and Epica etc, the early work of 'Mortal really is in a different league in terms of vocal performance.

Sharon's voice is just amazing, voice of a goddess, it's beautiful, strong and she can goes really high which most cant.
