@iskalla1 what trucks do you have? I have randal rII's 180mm 50 degrees with 83a stimulus wheels and whenever I try to do a standup I dont seem to have the momentum and alot of the time with a pendy when I go 90 my front two wheels go up so Im only on the back 2 wheels. Can anyone help me?
@BullzEye14 i wouldent do wet pavement cuz its too slidey the board slides out from underneath you and you can fall and plus if you practice on wet pavement dry pavement is gunna be really hard
Conquering speed wobble is largely a mental thing. If you think you're going to wobble then you're more likely to. Obviously different setups (trucks, bushings, board) are going to play a part in it, but ultimately it just comes down to riding a lot and getting comfortable on your board.
If the wheel is broken in it is possible to slide nearly any wheel. I have never used gum balls but other people slide them. Orangatangs are good for nearly anything!!!!
man i wanna do this so baaaaad but i'm scared i won't do the whole 180. i have pink bigzigs on my dervish, would it be easy to do? i can do speed checks fine too.
dont be scared just whip the 180 out, dervish is great for stand up slides n speed checks is half way there, carve harder and once you feel comfortable just give the carve your all in one motion and slide to get that 180.
try to visualize the 180° right before you actually do it. imagine how you ride away. and wind up your body using your arms. cant help more than that!
witch is harder the slide where u put ur hands down to the pavment or that standing up slide and if u could do ofvidoe of u teaching it that would be rad

can somebody help me out? i can only get the board 45 degrees or half way around. Its like a speed check, but i want the full 180

is this really all the speed you need to do a standup? i thought you had to be going rediculously fast. and would practicing on wet pavement help?

@BullzEye14 you will rust your bearings and all of the screws on your board.... horrible idea. Don't do it

do u need really loose trucks? or is it all in the motion?
narutoandWoWgeek 1 year ago
@narutoandWoWgeek
loosen your trucks as much as possible...get used to it. everything will be easier after that!

@p2y2r7o but what about the speed wobbles? or do u just keep carving as much as possible?

i slide gumballs whatever wheel your using you just got to go for it and then get used to it.
noticalali 2 years ago
no gumballs don't have as much of a lip as zigs. Lips equals grip!
the rounded edge of a gumball will slide better

the best wheels for sliding along the line of abec 11's are the strikers,,, orangotangs are good but every set I had I had to break in

As soon as I got over the "scare factor" I started to get nearly three quarters of the way there. I am happy cause I can sort of speed check now!!!
This was yesterday. Good Luck!!!

it is the unweighting thing...

I have been tryin so hard to get standups down but i always end up just doing like a drift. I think it's the unweighting thing...any extra tips?
Ub3rMario 4 years ago
standup is harder. maybe ill make a video for you. the trick to standup 180s is to unweight your backfoot!
