I've watched videos of artists who seem to tremble and deliberate and put off touching the brush to the canvas, and when they finally do it's just a brief stab with a brush held the way a preschooler holds a fork. And then they pick up another load of paint and the same agonizing process starts again. Very frustrating to watch; there's no flow. This man just paints. It's liberating.
Thanks for sharing these positive influences. Can, you help advise us artists about avoiding the negativities and depressions we face? We need to keep that happiness! Bigg hugs-Shonna
Thank you all for making the effort to comment. This part of YouTube is by no means the end of it - we get requests and remarks continually, some from isolated people and some from the best art institutions in various countries - and so often the same thing is being said.
Please understand, if you feel alone with your art and your struggle, that you are walking side by side with virtual cities of people you haven't met.
Your art is always there for you. And you are not alone with it.
This is actually very inspiring. I'm always in a hectic position and preoccupied with the present and about what the future holds. It kinda drains creativity out of you if it's constant. But this vid helps out to get me particularly into being more self-expressive. Thanx.
In all my time at Uni, not one of my teachers was nearly as sincere. Thank you for being willing to share these things with us, I think these are some things that we need so much to hear, and learn!
I have been painting for a few years now but never have seen art in this way. Tjhanks so much for this new way of feeling about what I am doing and trying to achieve.
Its wonderful to know somebody who can express feelings via word as well as painting and let other see what u want them to see.Looking forward for more lessons from you.
That is some seriously fine work of advice, we live in very interesting times, when artists communicate their ideas, techniques, and concepts to you through the net. The old masters couldn't have done that, therefore the ancients didn't learn much from them. Good going Bosler, we the new artist need people like you .
I've been thinking about your message almost obsessively over the past week. As I look at potential subjects, I make an effort to "see" it for itself and to "feel" it's special and unique impression.
~Wonderous is all I can say - til I finally put my brush into colors.
Hi Yombo, if you are having a little difficulty in capturing the "feel" of the subject elements, try doing some purely experimental works where you move your hand with the stroke according to the feel of the element. E.g, if it's a gnarly tree, make the stroke feeling that gnarlyness in your hand. If it's smooth, feel the smoothness as you apply. Try to train your hand to follow & express that feeling. Best wishes, artbytv
