An update would be good! Yager went on to become a guide dog for a young woman. She had spent most of her life very sheltered by her family. She realized she had to take an active role in her life and went to school to become a nurse and to get a guide. It's a perfect match as Yager loves to see all the new things life has to offer. She and her partner have a whole new world opened to them.
While there is a time and place for requiring the dog to remain calm, at 6 months of age socialization is also of great importance. It doesn't matter how calm and quiet your dog is behaving if, at the end of the day, they get sharp shy with a child who runs up and grabs onto them when the parent is not watching.
How very sad that you apparently had some negative comments to this video. That was a GREAT socialization experience for your puppy. I too have raised a guide dog puppy and worked with many assistance dogs.
Ditto on what Bethsmum97 said. Just ignore the ignorance of people who know nothing about dogs and therapy ones for that matter. I thought the pics were adorable and I could easily see the therapy training coming out of Yager, and think she will make a wonderful companion dog for someone who needs her.
What an amazing experience for Yager, she will always see people in stupid costumes as a positive thing LOL. She is adorable and I wish her the very best for the future.
Ignore the negative comments, as a fellow raiser I always find that comments like that come from people who have no idea how we raise the pups or why they need to be raised the way they are.

We were sad to see her go, but we are oh so proud of her and the impact she will have on this young woman's life.
We are now raising Precious, another golden. She just took a trip with us to Spain. That video will be coming soon!
