You know, funny you mention that, I've been toying with the idea of doing just that - either a single video about how to set up different rigs, or a series on set ups. They'd be more about the configuration per se than climbing, but with info about maximizing efficiency etc.
That's a CMI small Ultrascender. I have footloops attached to it so I can sit on the friction hitches, raise the ascender, and then stand in the footloops which allows me to advance the hitches up the rope.
While I have had good success using this double hitch, I am suspicious that it generates a lot of heat on the climbing rope. I've found some glazing on one of my ropes, but I don't know for sure what did it - it may not have been the tandem hitch.
Do you have any videos of setting up your gear ?
In the past just experimenting I climbed with only prusiks do to lack of acenders lol
