thanks 2Blaklite. I'm in the middle of writing one and shooting it soon enough. I need to see those three movies you are talking about. I appreciate your earnestness and advice. I need to think about what you are saying.
Cool. But what is my style? Or do you mean the style of film, because we shot it with a higher quality camera or is it the dialogue and acting. Please inform. Also, where do you shoot? I'm in NY.
yeah, by style i mean just the type of dialogue and acting. the way everyone in character is completely serious, but what their unique actions and corks make them funny. this is one of your first shorts, but it really shines through
We shoot mostly in Texas. most of our stuff is from one or two years ago, so im not too proud of it. getting rid of a few of our bad actors proves to help though. new stuff coming soon.
is there a specific lens your using, or is it just the camera?
also, do you use a separate mike or just the one on the camera. im having a lot of trouble with wind blowing into the mike, and im looking for a one that i could possibly just hang over my actors or one to pin on collars.
i can see you doing really well in a serious comedic role, like where you play a serious character, but what the character says and how he says it is as funny as hell... like in
that movie hot fuzz or from royal tanenbaums or life aquatic. you should seriously look into that, youre definitely good enough
You are a very talented actor Ron. GO INDEPENDENT!
My advice to you: (if it's worth anything)...Invite people in your 'world', not the other way around. In other words, If your style of acting, directing and writing is somewhat odd to others, so what! Those who appreciate your rendition of life will flock together and talk about for years to come. If you become like everyone else, you'll blend into mediocrity and that's boring. You don't seem boring. Go Ron!
I hear you Deemoe. Like many of us. I don't know what the hell to do, but just keep producing things which I love and want others to of course. But thank you. Very helpful. I really love what you said.
I love how good you are in this one! I'm glad to see you were finally able to get it.. just wish the whole thing would have come out well. Its not quite as clear here and the end credits don't make as much sense. But oh well.
Should add that I meant the whole overall video had turned out well so it could have been posted in its entirety... as I told you, this scene/compilation is pretty great.
I gotta kill me a home intruder Ron. If thats what it takes to get the job I have been trying to get for 21 years now...hehehe. You sound good talking with a mouthful of choco-donut...keep up the good work!!
Thanks Squid. I can always count on you for goodness. One day you have to be in one of my skits. Gotta do it. peace out west. NY is starting to freeze. Ouch.
For sure Ron, I'm there if you need 300lb BIG AL in any of your skits. Come out west and I'll put you up in my penthouse... Squid says come out west young man...

I think it is just the camera. It is more expensive and therefore higher quality resolution.

We used a seperate mic. You have to have a boom mic to make it more professional. It's the best way.

Love the song you used...but didn't quite get the ending, did he kill his wife or he's just a killer?
childre24 4 years ago
He actually killed a homeless man and it rejuvenated him. It was all rather silly. But thanks.
ronbarba 4 years ago
Thanks, it makes sense now. And I just read it was some scenes, not the whole thing. Thanks for the comment back :)
