Why does everything sound so much clearer than the MAME gameplay I've seen of this game? The music seems to have reverb on it, and all the characters' voices are a LOT more crisp. In the videos I've watched of it being played in MAME, you can barely make out anyone's voices in the cutscenes. And for that matter, what is a Supergun?
@peteyboy009 I suspect it's because of all the licenses involved. Maybe they could do it for all of their non-license games, like Crime Fighters and Metamorphic Force, but Bucky O'Hare and TMNT are difficult.
@peteyboy009 on other words, once they lose the licence for a while they cant use the characters anymore. If they held on to it a little longer, they would have ported this on a console. i mean they did TMNT, but yeah. Its like asking permission to use them.
never played this before nor seen the cartoon. heard about it because I typed in 80s cartoon to bring back my memories and seen this when looking around and thats how I heard about this cartoon but never knew it had a game.
I don't know the show didn't die due to popularity it more or less died due to owners of the series messing up. Funny thing is they had a live action movie they started on. Unfornately sometimes you win sometimes you lose the movie would have to say the least been hilarious and worth keeping. The game was pretty cool except I think their was some kind of issue with how the game ran. I mean the monitor even in the arcades the screen got funky sometimes. The graphics should have been polygons
agreed. I didn't know anything about Bucky past the arcade. But I remember this being one of the first arcade games i had ever beaten. I think I was 7 years old. I found this game in Chuckie Cheeses and it immediately became my favorite game to play there. I spent sooo much tokens on that game. I think it got to the point where I made sure I beat the game every time I went there. I was heart broken when they got rid of the machine. :(
...wow. I dunno what to be shocked about more. The fact that there was a Bucky O'Hare arcade game or the fact that they got the actual voice cast involved.
Is there any emulator that runs this game just like the video that was captured from the original arcade? For example, fade out to black after defeating Al Negator on Stage 1.
Oh man, this was one of my favorite Arcade games...along with Xmen and the Simpsons and Turtles in Time games.....Konami was so friggin good at making these cabinets.....It would be so great if they could somehow re-release these as near perfect arcade ports
"Somehow?" Capcom and Sega rerelease their old arcade games all of the time, often about 20 of them on a single disc. The only thing stopping Konami is their preference for porting bleh games on ridiculously underfilled discs that were already not that hard to get like Gradius III. To their partial defense, they did port the two Turtles games recently, but at the price of forcing you to play through those long and awful PS2 Turtles games in order to unlock them.
Wow. I never saw this before. In fact, I didn't even know that there WAS an arcade game of this cartoon. And it sure is different from the NES version. By much.
Thanks to whomever posted this--I never knew about this in the Arcades, and all the Characters sound like the Animated Series I wish they would remake this Series, and make A Final Episode to it.
Im 31 and never heard of/played this game in the arcades.
Shame on me.

@TheBigL1 Device for playing genuine arcade boards on a regular TV. I don't know why the sound is bad in MAME, I guess it's emulated poorly?
