  • a truly great tune rendered by a superstar!

  • Refleja una verdadera agonía que sale del corazón. Eso solo lo puede hacer Billie Holliday.

Shows a truly agony from her heart.

  • LADY SING THAT BLUES!!!

  • It is obvious she lived life ... or she couldn't sing songs like that ...

Been in the trenches, I think. Wasn't an easy life ... :(

  • Billie's interpretation of this song is exactly the way it should have been. It is a sad song and her voice by then was sad and to hear any other artist sing it is a disappointment. They can't capture the essence of the sadness in their voice.

  • Beautifully sad...what a great song, it makes me cry every time

  • doesn't this mean we can? we can be great. sincere. we can. we can overcome anything. we don't need wings. humans can fly in a wide open sky. full of love and joy.

  • i <3 eva cassidys cover

  • goosebumps every single time with this woman.

  • this is one of THE MOST heart breaking songs

  • I adore her voice, and the song in general its charming and slow but haunting, I listen to it everyday once or twice

  • Miki did the best remake. All of her Billie remakes a remarkable

  • What a sad voice

  • my billie favorite song

  • ....calling on lady day

  • Nikki Yanofsky singing this song it amazing!

  • its a shame shes not more celebrated in our time.

  • I prefer Ella on this, but Billie is her own class, too.

  • I always cry on this one! Even if i am not sad...

  • personalmente prefiero la version de eva cassidy aunque esta es muy nostalgica......

  • the greatest, artistic voice. loves lady day

  • Exquisite, as usual.

  • One of my all time favorite songs of Billie's

  • Lady In Satin. Billie at her best with Ray Ellis is so good. Thank God for this great talent.

  • As I have grown older I have come to realize, as Billie got older she got better.

When I was young, the young Billie was all I wanted to hear.

Now, later Lady, I have learned, is a true artist.

  • @bigeman25 She came into her own in the 1950s. Her voice was still full and controlled, and Norman Granz paired her with small combos that highlighted that supple range.

  • @empathic11 How right you are.

    She was magnificent.

  • This IS the best version. Hands down.

  • @CrAzzyWak Frankie Laine has a great version also

  • Ray ELLIS.

  • Not to forget the great orchestral arrangement by Ray Allen

  • she sings from the inside of her heart !

  • Right Gerard...fantastic voice!

    Beautiful! Thanks for the tip

  • Incredibly touching rendition...

  • BEAUTIFUL MUSIC. THE BEST.

  • This is one of my favorite songs ever.

  • Late Billie is really special, that she can still draw so much out of this song. Really hauntingly beautiful, start to finish.
