@TheMrpoppypants - To upgrade any plane in your hanger you need to go in the Standalone menu and complete the Arade mission. you have to shoot down 3 waves of 12 emeny planes to get your plan upgraded. You can get the ACE paint job for your plan by completing the Ace Mission where you have to shoot down one (1) of the same plane your are trying to to get an Ace paint job.

Then when I exited to the section, I paused the game and lowered the volume on TV again. Lastly do not start this mission late at night. I started at 8 p.m and completed it at 2 am.

I finally did it last week. I got through this mission. I only completed it. I did not Ace it. I used the Spitfire V and sed Arcade Nunchuck Sensative on my controller setting. I also used the God and Extended Damage Cheats. Another thing I did was to turn the volume on TV set until I got past the caves. I think when the music changes at the 30 sec mark makes you panic and crash. Once I got into larger cave to bomb and fight I paused the game and raise the sound.

Traestaree. I tired changing to simulator, but I am so used to the arcade setting I have a hard time flying straight. I make it to the 5:16/6:00 of this video and always crash at this point. I am never at the time on this video either. I am at 30 or less mins left at this point. I have been using the Spitfire. I tried the P-82 Twin Mustang but I always crash early. I noticed that is easier to fly this misssion as low as you can. I wish there was a least a cheat to add more time on this part or

.....DONT WATCH THE CLOCK !!!!!! watch your ass,stay low,learn the turns,it took me at least 20 times for each of the objectives and to finally complete the mission,,here's a handy tip!!!!!!!! <----- fly through this stage like you're playing starwars pod racer ,i guarentee that i will not be as difficult as you think,make up a few seconds right from the start,speeding up will gain you a few second's,,,for the difficult turns slow down,after that get in pod racer mode,i hope this help's.

Not only is the mission hard, wii graphics are not as good as the Play Station. This games has it's pro's and con's. There have been times when I wanted to throw my wii control at the tv because the game is so damn stupid sometimes but using cheats always makes things more enjoyable.

Yeah That really sucks... you mean the PC version does not let you choose your plane? The Focke Wolfe is not the really a good play for this mission, the N1K Shinden has much better agility.

Yeah it wont let you choose a plane first time around. I finally beat the level yesterday but after much frustration. Trying to fly throught those canyons with the FW is damn near impossible on the PC. It so big and clunky.

@Mimodave123456 I will try and help... make sure you choose a fast plane with good agility. I like using the upgraded N1k shinden. You have to memorize all of the turn so that you can know when you have to turn before you get to the corner. Finally, have you read through the video descriptions? I go into detail about a lot of things that can help... let me know and get back to me.

Okay, if you've had enough of this stupidly impossible level, here is the procedure to unlock all the missions and enjoy the rest of the game:

Press the "Plus" and "Minus" buttons and hold them while you press the following sequence: 1 - 2 - 2 - 1.

A message will appear that all the missions have been unlocked. This will light up your medal board like a christmas tree and will give you access to ALL the planes for ALL the missions.

The effect lasts until you turn off the game.

The key is to know all the turns before have to make them.

Yeah, try the upgraded N1K Shinden, and you are right, you literally have to know which way you are going to turn before you are even near the corner.... the key is to practice until you know the canyon by heart... kinda sucks.

I would recommend flying the Spitfire V, N1K Shinden or the P-82 Twin Mustang. If you are trying to earn an ace rating, then I recommend flying the N1K Shinden because it has excellent performance, and the best firepower;

To reach the end of the canyon before time runs out you must fly at maximum speed for at least eighty-five (85) percent of the canyon. That means you can only brake when absolutely necessary and only for the sharpest of turns.

If you are flying the N1K Shinden or the Spitfire V, it is possible to complete this objective flying at maximum speed for the entire length of the canyon; if you are flying the P-82 Twin Mustang there will be a few corners where you will have to brake to make the turn.

You literally need to be able to see three (3) seconds into the future and to know which way you need to turn before you reach the corners, to do this you have to practice and to know the canyon by heart.

your plane can move up and down quicker and easier than it can turn to the left or right. By flying your plane sideways you can use your ability to move up and down to your advantage. The canyon is almost twice (2) as high vertically than it is wide horizontally, if you fly sideways you can use this to your advantage. In other words, it is easier to fly through the canyons by flying sideways, using your ability to move up and down to traverse the narrow canyon.

i've done this mission like ten times and have gotten within 2 seconds of getting the ace rating, but it seems like when i do good and don't crash at all i'm way off on the time, yet when i do bad and crash like five or six times my time is better.

Honestly this is the most hardest mission I ever seen ^^. I crashed like a hundred of times, at the end I could pass it xD destroy planes is the easy part xD My problem is with the canyon, but anyway I completed the mission in 13 minutes o_O I'll try to get better =P.
