Replacing my old shuffle with this one was a huge dissapointment. The earphones don't suite me and no aftermarket headphones have the controls. This also makes it hard to plug into the car stereo to listen to your own music. Apple are also anti competitive forcing you to use iTunes with this product which stops you even seeing the content of your shuffle. Dont buy it.

Have you had any problems with sweat hindering the functionality of your iPod shuffle? I've got a 2G iPod shuffle (3rd generation), and after numerous workouts, the device becomes unresponsive to control inputs, and will often announce and skip songs without being commanded to do so. I've read of similar problems experienced by other iPod shuffle users (of this same generation), and have sent a query into Apple about it.

I like Ipod shuffle because you don't have to pull it out of your pocket to play songs. I live in a bad neighborhood so flashing your expensive 200$ ipod wouldn't be a good idea. I hate the 3rd gen version btw.I hope it doesn't sell so they can go back to how the 2nd gen was or something similar

This iPod Shuffle isnt half bad in any way. Probably the best feature is the VoiceOver + the capacity increase by 4GB. The small size & the introduction of the color black is another feature that makes the Shuffle awesome, along w/ the stainless steel edition and the stainless steel clip. Probably the only BAD thing about it (ITS DA WORST) is that the controls are on the headphones, & if the earbuds break, ur stuck w/ earphones from Apple instead of wearing in-ear earphones, or headphones.

i love this new shuffle, i was abit hesitant at first buying one because i didn't know if the control button was too far down, but its at good height. i use this shuffle all the time, at the gym etc but i kept my old generation aswell for car rides n' stuff - i would reccomened ;D

The headphone controller sucks- I have had my shuffle for four months and I have had to replace the headphones twice. THat is my only complaint though, as a runner I find it to be the perfect size but I cannot afford to replace my headphones ever few months. I paid my Apple tax, I shouldn't have to keep buying new headphones because Apple is oh-so-exclusive. The headphones work well but the remote wears out in a few weeks!!! Awful.

Not really just get a tapStick made for it and you can use with any other headphones, plus is has buttons for play, pause, volume, skiptrack, etc. Can't wait to get one.
