  • embarrassing

  • Oh dear, quite funny though - especially the line: 'imagine...what position she was in'. This guy made it sound like a sex act.

  • EPIC FAIL

    this is embarrassingly bad.

    a) it's meant to be played by a woman. you can't just ignore that fact and

    b) poor acting and

    c) what the hell are you doing with all the random angles?! it wouldn't be like that in a theatre, so why are you doing it?!

All in all, a massive failure.

  • if Beckett's estate wouldn't allow a female version of Godot, I doubt they would look kindly on this.

  • crap version dont even try beckett again

  • @dannydando7 The version Beckett did was crap so it doesn't really matter.

  • Well, it's not as stinkingly awful as the Julianne Moore version.

  • @sjbrez It's equally as awful... both of them should have never existed.

  • Stewie Griffin does Beckett

  • That's an interesting version!

Those of you who like this video (and even those who do not) are invited to watch my picture interpretation of this monologue: No, Nope, Nottt!

    nigulat

  • Seriously. First of all this man's effort is really remarkable. Nevertheless, I agree. His acting is shit!, well, not, shit ain't that awful & when it's release the body encounters some pleasure, but watching this made me sick. I don't know if the man is a pro, but even if he were, as a pro it's necessary to recognise one's limits. Hope he never performs it again.

  • dont beg beckett, this version is shite

  • It's interesting to see a man doing "Not I" because the role is usually cast as a woman. The actual play doesn't call for either a man or a woman for the role, just a person.

  • The character refers to herself as "she" and "tiny little girl." The character is written as a seventy year old woman.

  • I don't know if you have every read the actual script or done any research on the piece/Beckett mentality before, but the character (Mouth) never relates anything to their own experience. Technically they are just 'words' coming out of the characters mouth, so it is easy to assume that the character is a 70 year old woman, but that isn't necessarily fact. This means that the character 'mouth' could be played by either gender.

  • terrible version... can hear the acting... doesnt even touch the 1973 version.. its like your reading the rupert the bear books lol

  • ¿QUE ES ESTO?

    MUY MALO

  • The acting is very apparent... in fact, this piece is not meant to be acted or actioned at all. It's a perpetuous narration of life.

    Not a good version.

  • WHAT NO! SHE?

  • WHAT? no love of any kind of any substantual stage!!!!!

  • what on earth made you want to do that

  • vampire teeth

  • Kudos on having taken the time to learn this very difficult piece! A piece of, I hope, constructive advice: In her autobiography "Billie Whitelaw:... Who He?" Ms. Whitelaw, considered on of the foremost interpreters of Beckett's works, wrote that Beckett's direction to her, time and again, was "less colour", which she interpreted as "don't act". This is a good direction for any actor on any piece. If dialogue is well-written, then the words themselves will convey the proper emotions.

  • What a terrible version!

  • Not the best version in my view at all. I never thought it possible to over act with ones lips alone, I was clearly wrong.

  • Thanks for the upload, a great version of "Not I." Helpful for my revision :D
