  • Your videos are some of the better videos of Western IMA practitioners that I have seen on here. You obviously practice very very hard :D

  • I really am impressed with your "intentionedness"... what you have determined will be, just a split second before you make a movment. You are leading your movements well. I don't see that happen very often in practitioners.... well done!

Something I like to do when going through my forms is to have a friend stop me, I freeze, and he pokes or tips me... LOL Another is to do forms, stop and perform the strikes with a focus glove. Want something fun? Tape a small twig under one shoe and workout...

  • Never saw the body rise and fall so much during circle walking... interesting...

  • yeah... one of my weak-points :) i work at it, thanks :)

  • the song is from the tai chi master ! i dont know the exactly title! sorry

  • Well if you find it out could you tell me?

  • Footwork aside, the form is beautifully fluid and superbly executed. So often, those of us who practice the martial arts forget about the ART and I think you deserve a hearty salute for an overall excellent demonstration.

  • i have never seen foot work that hoped , i was taught feet are planted like roots, i guess there is a reson, form still well done, just don't understand your foot work

  • Yeah I have to agree, Footwork is suppose to be rooted, the back heal lifts off before he completes the step so it kinda has a unsmooth feel to it.

    Just a thought.

  • Hi, thanks for both or ur comments! I agree with ur words about the stepwork... still have to practice alot :) When i did this demo, i didnt think to much about the steps, just did the form though, anyway stepwork is important and should be practiced propperly!

  • One of the best non-Chinese bagua performers.

  • I have been involved in wu kung for only a few years, though it has been a life long passion. I like to think I can differentiate between good and bad. I have never been lucky enough to study Bagua though have read many books, seen many videos.

Whilst I am not Chinese, I deeply admire the Chinese culture and philosophy.

Bagua is the art I find closest to my heart because of its brilliant combination of culture and philosophy, manifested in movement.

This video stands out among the others.

  • you are really good. Great balance. You spun around twice one time, and then moved out of it like a snake. What is your name?

  • hi, thank u for ur comment! I`m Ismet.

  • O MY, whos student are you??? It looks soo...familiar...Im literally shivering. You have shaken...ME. Its not an easy feat, trust me. Your Twisting body is so very close to mind, as if ive seen it before... You sir, or whoever is in this video deserve a large congratulations. Your on a paralell level with me??? I bow to you sir very low. You have my upmost respect.

  • Thanks a lot for ur comment, but my level at Baguazhang is really just at the basic-stadium! I`m into Taijiquan more and cant find the time for practicing the Baguazhang. Anyway thanks!

  • You have practiced at Wudangshan correct? You have a real talent for the gung fu.

  • your circle walking is amazing, you move just like the wudang students do, i wish i could train with you :)

  • You should study all Bagua syles and you will see each of them will have it's own way of doing things. But the walking it's self is a secret. I remembered something about Dong or his studets were made to walk for two to three years before learning anything else becasue you must master walking along with posture to be able to do anything else.

  • I was taught the slideing step where you slide your foot forward and the "steping like mud" step. If you don't have balance along with technique and your breathing is not proper then style, steps, moves don't matter if you don't have foundation. Bagua is considered an esoteric art because Dong Hai Chuan was apart of the Dragon-Gate sect, if I am correct, so there was and is secrets within the art that we don't know and can only be taught by a real master and then experienced through self.

  • Another talented performance! But Ba Kua requires that each step be solidly placed. This is the root of the entire system, the footwork. Many Chinese don't know this and those who know, often don't tell the secret. You can see this in the hips. Ba Kua stepping is like the pendulum in a clock, moving down then up, sinking like water. Most performers think that ordinary walking is good enough, so their center of gravity moves up then down, the opposite of nature gravity. So, they float like cloud.

  • Hello, thanks 4 ur comment!

Interesting view of the foot/stepwork. As u must know there r at least 3 different stepwork ways in Baguazhang and maybe thausends of differents between styles. Even the second gegeration after Dong Hai Chuan there where 7 from each other absolutely different styles... So u cant really tell what is good for which style of Baguazhang.. I watched ur vids, but i cant really tell someth. about them, cause they r totally different to ours.

  • another thing... secrets r secrets and youtube is youtube :) secrets r 4 the "practice" and 4 youtube we have some "show", some "entertainment" forms. But still thanks 4 ur explanation.

  • That is a very good distinction to make - performing a form for show and doing a form for practise are two very different things. Not many people realise this! I thought your performance was beautiful, your movements were really fluid! Do you ever come to England?

  • this year i been to southsea England giving a workshop, but i`m based in germany right now.

  • like a pendulum in a clock? Dont this give signal to your enemy you next step?

  • no.

when u do weightlifting, or ropejumping, dont this give signal to your enemy for ur next step? C this set of Baguazhang IS something like weightlifting, or ropejumping, or anything else for body conditioning. It is NOT for fight, or doesnt teach us "fighting". But the applications i can record a day and put it online so the differents is openly seen. Greet u.

  • awesome form, the performer is flawless

  • Amazing skill!
