  • At 1.38 mn ;Paul McCartney and Paul Simon .Macca have a, very big admiration for him (PS) .

  • This Kathy (Chitty) is the very same Kathy that appears in "the song America

'Kathy', I said as we boarded a Greyhound in Pittsbugh, 'Mitchigan seems like a dream to me now. It took us days to hitchhike from Saginaw....'

  • Best version by far. Paul Simon is a musical genius.

  • One of the best love songs ever written ,from one of the best artists ever Simon & Garfunkel

  • 0:50 Paul and Mickey Mantle too cool.

  • Why does his heart lie in England ?Is his love there ?

There's so much to this song that I do not follow logically.

  • @Stephen17249 yeah, though I'm pretty sure the Kathy in question actually lived in Wales.

  • @SquishedButterfly Stephen.Kathy was living in Essex when Paul met her..She moved to Wales later in life. They met up again many years later when he gave tickets for her and her family to attend one of his shows in London.

  • @Stephen17249 Paul wrote the song just after he had returned from England, where he had spent one year or so. He had fallen in love with this Kathy, whom he missed once back in the USA. Among other things, in England he recorded the beautiful "The Paul Simon Song Book". Read also the notes to "Wednesday Morning 3 am". I also think this is the best version of the song.

  • My favourite version of the song.

  • 0:20 Gearge Harrison, 1:38 Paul McCartney :D Half of The Beatles :) Great song

  • Great Photos..Great Song

  • @wimmy30 Thank you. Great song and this is my favourite version of it.

  • @wimmy30 Stephen, The song was written by Paul around 1964 when he returned home after living and performing in England. He is missing his English girlfriend ,Kathy Chitty, who remained in England.
