  • Actually : ) Bas Rutten, is a trained martial artist in Tae kwon Do, Kyokushin, Muay Thai and was crucial in getting Pride, UFC and MMA in general to where it is today.

    Also since retiring he has released many self defence tapes. This highlight is taken from Bas Rutten's Lethal Self Defense, and is really really good : )

  • I think his tips are more useful than majority of self defence tips out there. Its so much easier to knee to the groin than to try exchanging blows or throwing or trying to get some kind of a lock. People can die in fights, so avoid fights in all situations. But if someone is coming to hurt you, you fight dirty, cuz thats what'll make you win.

  • That you are not afraid of being beaten is in no way a reason to look for a fight. That you've fought more dangerous men than him says absolutely nothing if you lost to all of them, whether you "held your own" or not. And if you've been beaten up by several burly men, I imagine you've taken your share of blows to the head as well, and you don't really have a right to comment, since he actually wins the fights he gets into.
