  • that budgie looks exactly like one of my pet budgies her name is twinkle and shes all white

  • good job

  • every time i show my parrot something like this he tries to bite and flip it. one time i had a glass of juice and he sneaked up and threw it off the table!

  • i love duke

  • where can i get the clicker? I looked in evry pet shop but they dont have it..so were can i get one?

  • Ha ha look at 39 sec.

  • Does Duke have his wings clipped? My Budgies won't stay on the ground. :C

  • This is the funniest bird I've ever seen. He just bounces and slides everywhere! hhaha

  • very nice!!!

  • I think first you'd have to condition the bird to tolerate being grabbed like that, otherwise the poor bird would just be traumatized. My guys hate being grabbed, as it usually means into the carrier, and subsequently the car. Duke is a superb budgie, by the way, and you seem to be an excellent trainer! He trusts you so much.

  • I tried that and my parrot bit my finger!!! To my suprise it didn't bleed. Thank you anyways. I love your video.

  • If you have a iPod touch or iPhone , etc you can download a clicker application free

  • it just wants that treat lol but still cute

  • what parott is white parot?senegal?

  • Where did you get the clicker?

  • hey there , can you please tell me how you first got your budgie to do that please ! . mine gets scared when i put something new near him . and how did you get him to climb through it without being scared. thanks . btw YOU'RE BIRD IS SO CUTE !!!

  • @kiliparrot If u put it in a tube could it get stuck? And are budgies the same as a parakeet? I think they r.

  • @1emmsy It won't get stuck. The bird isn't as big as it looks, feathers give it a bigger appearance but compress as it moves through the tube. Budgerigars are not the same as parakeets. The term Budgerigar (budgie for short) refers to the Melopsittacus undulatus species of parrot native to Australia. Parakeet is simply a general classification of about 100 small short tailed parrots. Budgerigar is the species of bird, parakeet is it's description, and parrot is its family.

  • does this work on parakeets or just budgies? Im scared if i try it with my parakeet then my bird will get stuck in the larger toilet paper roll on part 0:56..Does it work on parakeets?

  • this looks so rong in a good way

  • Cutie and flightless

  • What a smart birdy!

  • Do you have millet in their diet and as a treat or do you only use the millet as a treat?

  • @bexyb91 There's two kinds of millet or it comes in two different forms. Millet spray is good for treats because you can hold onto it and they really seem to love it. Then there's plenty of loose millet mixed into a classic budgie seed mix. They never seem to get tired of it.

  • @kiliparrot Great, thanks heaps :) our bird is still scared of the world haha

  • your budgie is so cute :)

  • Kiliparrot - you and that girl that figures in some of your vid's, has A LOT to learn...

  • This makes me so SAD. This is not the correct way to clicker-train animals! Look carefully - at the beginning of the clip you can se the person FORCEING the budgie through the roll, with no other way to go than through it! And then click and a treat?? Clickertraining - shaping - is supposed to be based on free will and to reinforce the right moves, bit by bit. Not by force! This is called flooding, and is not a good trainingmethod. Unfortunately no news, when i comes to this specific Youtuber..

  • @StinaStygg Some birds respond better to clicker training. Each bird is different in its temperment.

  • That is an amazing trick! How would you teach them that though?

  • Haha Thats Kute i Wanna Try itt With Mine(:

  • lol so cute! :) What would be awesome is, if you made different "levels"! and upload a new video. "Level 1:" (this toilet roll), "Level 2:" a longer kitchen paper roll "Level 3:" etc, be creative :) that would be so great to watch! :)

  • @shairaptor hups you already made level 2, lol! didn't watch the movie long enough, now I did! hehe. great! :) maybe you make more "levels"(parcours) for your birdie? :)

  • wowwwww!!!!You are awesome!!!!!!!

  • @kiliparrot I just got a budgie today it's my first bird. When should I let it out of it's cage and for how long and why is it scared of my hand?

  • wow

  • I love how he is so excited to get the millets and runs through the tube ^_^

  • thats not fair! your already putting him in!

  • what can I use as treats my birds don't like spray millet.

  • Budgies are so cute and intelligent ! Mine repeats what I say, she gives kisses, she comes when I call her.. and ses super happy whenever someone comes close to her cage and talks to her.

  • my budgie does not get into the roll i do it like you do but he just wont get in it..

  • @nilayozsuer See my more recent video/article about teaching my Cape Parrot to go through the tube willingly by using targeting and positive reinforcement.

  • 0:47 "hey! where's my reward?!" =P

  • oh duke! i love how he just cant wait to get through that toilet paper roll!!! LOL thnx this teqinuqe worked quite well on my bird, Neeko

  • i think my budgie would be very afraid to do this and even bite me

  • I have already owned my budgie for 2 years. she is very tame. However, it is probably too late to train her to do the tissue paper tube trick right??

  • Wow, I like it. Clicker training seem to go very well for you. We haven't tried it yet. None of our birds are that playful yet.

  • thats so cute :D

i really want to get a parakeet! :)

  • wow that bird was realy smart!

  • DUKE NUKEM!

  • you noe the target chopstick thing my cockatiel keeps chewwing instead of having a treat

  • Hes probably thinkin "If I go through this tunnel MILLET COMES TO ME!!"

  • what do you reward the budgies with? is millet good to treat them?

  • @chariot20030 Yeah they love millet

  • my bird got stuck in one of them XD hes fine though.

  • Incredible...

  • so you can tech all the trick you tech to a budgi to a parakeet?

  • @zinkx3 There are approximately 90+ species of parakeets. Budgerigars are the most common parakeet owned in captivity. I think any parrot can learn these tricks.

  • Awww xD He already knows that if he does the trick, he gets the food x3 So cute

  • OMG!!! how much did it take to start doing that from 0:56 . (going alone to the tube)

    i have 3 budgies , so i could teach them that :P

  • @kiliparrot i don't wanna ask questions. But how old is your parakeet?

  • I love your budgie

    where did you buy it?

  • I love your budgie

  • when i try to do that he squacks and pushes his head to his body then flys on my shoulder

  • so a clicker works for parakeets (Budgie's) too?

  • @candycane5456 Why not

  • @kiliparrot No I was just wondering if it works for parakeet's too. because I thought it only worked for dogs and cats.

  • @candycane5456 Nah, parrots are generally considered more intelligent than cats/dogs so even more advanced training techniques could be applied.

  • @kiliparrot Okay thanks!

  • lol so cute!

  • Great jajaj

  • Haha! At the point where you take away the millet to get more, the bird just looks around and tries to get more by going through the roll again! He's like, "what happened to the millet? Maybe if I go through that thing again, I'll get some!" Lol!

  • SCREW MY BUDGIE

  • Ooooo Its so pretty!! ^-^ i got a bird his name is tristan hes a male Whiteface pearl cockitail and loves to sing! i tried to teach him songs but he keeps beat boxing lol

  • @beardeddragonman22 A budgie is just one of over 90+ species of parakeets.

  • my parakeet doesnt fit in that is she to fat

  • thats cool..if i took my budgies out of the cage they will fly and go wild LOL :)

  • well first i just took the pudgie a lot and holded it in my hand (when i let him he flied away) so did that a long tiem than once just puted him on my knee and leted him fly. but he didnt fly away :D i was amazed didnt knwo what hes doing than puted my finger under him he steped on him

and i could carry him :D im gonna try this trick now :D

  • Runs through tube, and thinks, "wheres my treat?" 00:45

  • is that a clicker your using

  • At first he's like NO YOU CAN'T MAKE ME then he's all ohhh. Ohhhhh, food. LET ME GO THROUGH! Haha. I love birds, they catch on so quickly.

  • @mikey101499 It's a clicker. People use it for dogs, cats, birds, and anything else they are trying to train. It's a pretty high pitched noise that gets the animal's attention and they learn that means "treat"!

  • He is really cute where did you get him

  • so cute(:

  • Cool!

  • Hey that table is from IKEA, or its a well done plagiarism^^

    great video btw :P

  • Cool! :D

  • That is hilarious

  • my budgie is quite tame and loves to perch on my finger, but he hates being held like you do in this video.

is there any way i can train him to enjoy being held and not run away or complain when i try?

  • Hahaha, thats really cool. bookmarking this page to teach my budgie :)

  • Lol- It can't get through that tube fast enough! Gotta get a treat-gotta get a treat-gotta get a treat!!!!

  • can you make a video of very basic training . I like what your doing but im new to training

  • cute, but how do you train your budgie not to fly away from you when you let it out of its cage?

    PLZ answer

  • Block it from getting out or grab it while still in cage. Then teach it to step up and cue step up from then onward.

  • @esbenjddk one way is cutting the wings like i did but its dangerous and u need to know how to do it

search for a video on how to do it or go to the vet and they do it for you

thats what i did to train my budgie

  • @aror68 I do not recommend clipping wings. To all parrot owners: I suggest you educate yourself rather than taking it out on the bird and clipping it.

  • @kiliparrot my budgies wings are clipped and so are yours lol. you know there clipped when the feathers that cross oves the butt are gone. and duke is a girl lol

  • @kiliparrot just clip 1 it wont fly as fast but can still fly btw how do clickers work

  • @kiliparrot Are Budgies parrots? And what is that click sound after each trick?

  • @Koolkid736 Budgies are parrots. The click lets him know he did the right thing.

  • @kiliparrot Oh cool. And the person in the video is making the click right? And thanks.

  • @kiliparrot hi...my budgies flower and L-Rod (bro's) are finger trained but aren't to fond of me. anyone really. if you put your hand in their cage to take them out the run away and go wild. i can get them out but its hard. if you put your finger by flower she just sits there and doesnt step up. not even if you say step up. she usually does but somtimes doesnt. if you put somthing near them they fly around the room like wild maniacs. (flower just flys to the floor) what am i doing wrong?!

  • That's cute :) adorable budgie

  • Many pet stores sell them in the training or dog training section or buy the checkout counters.

  • were do u buy the clicky thing

  • my bugdie's are to lazy, and the other one bites. i tried to teach them tricks but it just wasnt getting through to them, and i even put food in my hand.

  • Beautiful bird! Not to mention talented!

-Megan and budgie buddies Jasper and Emmet

  • i cant wait till i get my bird so i can teach it tricks like this :))

  • is that millet your using?

  • Aww! i'll need to do that when mine are tamed!!

  • Has anyone noticed that he goes all the way around it is so cute and hilarious lol r.i.p Duke we will miss you

  • hahaha thats hellla funy

  • soo cute and smart bird u have!...I just lost mine this week..I miss her so much :(

  • wow thats amazing

  • i cant believe your budgie actually lets you wrap your hands around her body! mine lets me pet her and take her out of her cage and she plays and climbs on me but if i wrap my hands around her body se goes crazyyy

  • @BudgieAndMe siccor time :S

  • @BudgieAndMe: bird can haz not treat

  • i love how he runs :57 byfar one of the best keets ive seen so far

  • I got a budgie yesterday and I called him Charlie. He is still getting used to his surroundings but as soon as I can, I am going to teach him this trick. I think it is so sweet.

  • you are very close with ur bird and all the videos u make want me to try to mine to those things :)

  • is there a different kind of budgie so its white cuz the only budgies ive seen r green ones and blue ones

  • Yes. The only natural coloration of budgie in the wild is the speckly green type. Any other color is a different color mutation which is kind of like a different breed of dog. Same species, different color.

The blue ones are an artificial color mutation that was bred in captivity. Actually budgies are green with yellow or blue with white. Albino budgies are pure white and lutino are pure yellow because they are missing pigment. Ours is a dark eyed clear, blue and white budgie without any blue.

  • Lovely bird, but why the clicker?

  • The clicker tells the bird the exact moment that a desired behavior has been completed. So what you do is clicker condition your bird by clicking the clicker and giving it a food treat. This teaches the bird that hearing that sound means a treat is on its way. Later on, you use the click during training to capture the exact moment the bird does the right thing. For this trick it is less important but the bird is familiar with it anyway. Other tricks can only be taught with a clicker.

  • Great Bird and A Great Camera! You should try connecting tubes so you can make a Maze sorta thing! 5 stars

  • I love your budgie! :)
