In allowing that rat near your bunny, you were putting your bunny at great risk. Rats pee almost contentiously and rabbits can become very ill if they ingest any of it. Rabbits are not rodents, they are lagomorphs. Most people believe that rabbits only live a couple of years because theirs always die, but their rabbits are dying from not getting proper care, not from old age. Rabbits can easily live 8 to 12 years. I raised rabbits for years and mine always lived 14+ years. Poor bunny. :(
