Hi Poohchipoo, after hearing this video, I was inspired to buy a yellow finch. It did sing when it was taken out of the cage with many other birds but since I brought it home, it has only chirpped. Can't figure out what I did wrong. Any advice?
tetsu, this is called a Green Singer (or Singing) finch not a yellow finch. It is very normal for a finch to stop singing once it's taken from its environment that it's used to and put in a new place. They usually stop singing for a couple of weeks until they get used to the new place and feel safe. Eventually your bird will start singing again.Just make sure it feels safe and happy.
Hi My Friend , to be right this bird is known as d Yellow Eyed Finch in Asia, maybe in Canada it`s know as d Yellow fronted Finch. A Green Singing has a different song, I`m sure you can hear the difference.
@poohchipoo Hi. I dont know. I have one GS and it looks exactly the same as the one in this video. Yes, there'a a difference in the way they sing but not all green singers sound exactly the same. Mine doesn't sound like other GSs I've seen.Dont forget that some birds can learn and copy the sounds of other birds. But at the end, what matters is that it's a bird with a beautiful song. And that's good enough.
Oh I am so glad to find your video. I just got two finch-zebra. I have a round cage, almost the size of yours. I like the crocked stick and the way you put the water and food, gave me some ideas.
Two is great, but if they're male and female, you won't have two for long, you'll have many. Zebras love to breed.
If you can afford it, try to get a bigger cage for them, long is better than high. And a crooked stick of some wood they're not allergic to (ask at pet store) keeps their nails nice and trim. Don't cook with Teflon pans around them! Otherwise zebras are the toughest birds there are...
Hi shakeybaby, this Finch is a Yellow-Eyed. I teach my birds to mimic other bird songs. i have another video just search A different green singing finch, hope u like it`s song. great to hear from another birdy buddy. Thank God for the Birds!
Hi hackalabac, good day, & greetings from Singapore. this bird is not a Brimstone Canary. It`s is a Yellow Fronted Canary, ( Yellow Eyed ) very popular in Hong Kong, China, Malaysia, & Singapore, because of it`s robast song. A very good mimic.
