This is PS2 game.

Final Fantasy VII, VIII, and IX were for PS1.

Trains were at least in Final Fantasy VII and VIII.

nah this isn't it... trying to find a game on PS1 whit the turn based battle system. very similar to final fantasy. but something very distinct to the game is that it feautered blitzball. The special ability each character got into the game was to be able to turn into dragon-like things... but I can't find it!

You can download ps2 firmware from PSN for free.

After this you'll be able to play ps2 games on your ps3, unless region code of the game differs with the code of your ps3.

Expert/International Grid (Far more freely structured than the other, you get abilities much sooner, but less stats)

And probably some other stuff I forgot.
