Her, Castro, and sadly Archuleta, were the weakest of the night, somehow her and Castro were safe. She was not as good as Smithson, definitely not as good as Michal Johns, and yet she wasn't even in the bottom.

I think Brooke is consistently good ... I don't think she'll win this thing, however. I feel bad about her "stumble", but she handled it as best she probably felt she could at the time. David A. forgot his words, too, during his Andrew L. Webber song, but he sort of mumbled through it and it wasn't too noticeable. Watch it here on YouTube if you didn't see it. I would like to see either David win.

Some people get caught up in the rules and forget about the emotion and connection with the song. She was connected and that is why I think she is still on. David Cook is still my favorite of that night. Brooke was my second.
As a performing artist you should know that if you are at the beginning of your song that is different than the middle. The beginning start over. Middle go on . Loved the performance. America got it right.
I agree 100% with Paula. As a performing artist myself, the first thing we are taught is YOU CANNOT START OVER! If you make a mistake, you move on and keep on going, if you forget the words, you sing "peanut butter watermelon" and keep going. Randy and Simon have shown by their comments that they truly do not understand a single thing about performing onstage and therefore and not worthy judges for this program. (A Program which should be cancelled by the way!)
YES! I agree entirely about everything. David Archuleta forgot the lyrics at the beginning of "We Can Work It Out" but he continued anyways and his mistake didn't interrupt the flow of the performance.

Bravo Brooke! You sang very well. Your voice is beautiful ... and distinctive. I know how difficult it must be to prepare, (in 2 days at best), to sing before a massive audience. Yes, I have heard more polished versions ... however, it's unfair to compare your performance to that of someone who has, previously, performed it 100s (perhaps 1000s) of times. Surely, yours would be equally lustrous!

Even from the beginning at auditions and still now I don't feel as if she is putting on a front being so nice. I have been less and less pleased with her performances ever since "Let It Be", but "Every Breath You Take" was done exceptionally well also. This week I feel bad because unlike David Archuleta I don't think that she can survive tonight with messing up the lines, let a lone stop and restart. I'm sad about it honestly.
Everyone else sing really well, they were WELL-PREPARED....Brooke did OK. She kept her poise on stage. However, she was not WELL-PREPARED. The competition is so tough and close. Even a little mistake can cost the competition. Really good season. I expect Brooke gone.

One of the worst performances I've EVER seen so far into a season of American Idol. I was all ready for the judges to rip her a new one and they didn't!! Even Simon was nice to her. Biggest bunch of crap ever, horrible and she needs to get on her way and off the show.
Brook is one of the rawest talents on the show. It showed with Sir Andrew. He recognized she had no idea what the song was about. He challenged her to bring out from within a powerful emotion. She did it. I was moved by the performance, the texture of her voice was live, living, real.
She went through a learning curve when he referred to her as 'a good actress' because now she realizes she has the green light to play up that emotion she naturally brings to the table.
she did the right thing by stopping. it would have been worse if she would have made words up like paula said she should have done. simon and randy were right. mistakes happen even to the best of us. minus the mistake, the pain and suffering in her voice made the song even better. She was singing about a dying woman after all! Very heartfelt performance.

Most professionals forget words. Listen to any live album. Lots of times they play the wrong music to the song. How many rock bands had a lead singer so high he had to scream in parts of the song because he was too stone to remember. Forgetting words happens all the time.

She has had the same problem before in her performances...she has a weak personality, she is timid and worries too much and no one wants to see a performer like that. She needs confidence and strong determination. She doesn't have it. Period.

Personality involves a lot of things. When David A gets good news, he either acts totally suprise or acts like he doesn't care. He shows no expressions. All he does is stands there and gives a goofy smile. He doesn't even communicate really. It is like he is afraid to speak. David Cook, is a very good singer and should win, but he is what Simon said he was....he sometimes thinks he is better than he really is...that is a turn off for me.

She needs to go, everyone (excluding Castro) is better than her, and now people with more talent are being voted off. WTF
Her, Castro, and sadly Archuleta, were the weakest of the night, somehow her and Castro were safe. She was not as good as Smithson, definitely not as good as Michal Johns, and yet she wasn't even in the bottom.
She's a bit ditsy, not even American, just like Smithson.

I think Brooke is consistently good ... I don't think she'll win this thing, however. I feel bad about her "stumble", but she handled it as best she probably felt she could at the time. David A. forgot his words, too, during his Andrew L. Webber song, but he sort of mumbled through it and it wasn't too noticeable. Watch it here on YouTube if you didn't see it. I would like to see either David win.

Carly did not deserve to go home. Neither did Syesha. Brooke's got the looks I'd give her that. But she's no top12 singer. It's unfathomable! David Cook and David Archuleta will most likely be the finalists. No Brooke next week PLEASE!!! The nerve to have the orchestra restart. Ya it's difficult to sing in front of a live audience, the nerves kicking in and all, but why the hell would you ever think of restarting after already uttering a couple of lines?? What the hell?!

If this woman still doesn't get the boot next week, there's only one word to describe it - UNBELIEVABLE. Brooke is actually a smart girl. Smart enough that is to embody this image of being so sweet and innocent. Puuulllease! Oh and you should NEVER stop and restart. You're singing live. She should treat it like it's her concert. That was so unprofessional. She could have just continued and try to recover and make people forget about her mistake. That's what better singers do.

Some people get caught up in the rules and forget about the emotion and connection with the song. She was connected and that is why I think she is still on. David Cook is still my favorite of that night. Brooke was my second.

As a performing artist you should know that if you are at the beginning of your song that is different than the middle. The beginning start over. Middle go on . Loved the performance. America got it right.

I agree 100% with Paula. As a performing artist myself, the first thing we are taught is YOU CANNOT START OVER! If you make a mistake, you move on and keep on going, if you forget the words, you sing "peanut butter watermelon" and keep going. Randy and Simon have shown by their comments that they truly do not understand a single thing about performing onstage and therefore and not worthy judges for this program. (A Program which should be cancelled by the way!)

YES! I agree entirely about everything. David Archuleta forgot the lyrics at the beginning of "We Can Work It Out" but he continued anyways and his mistake didn't interrupt the flow of the performance.
Bringing the band to a complete stop like Brooke did effects the flow of the song.

Bravo Brooke! You sang very well. Your voice is beautiful ... and distinctive. I know how difficult it must be to prepare, (in 2 days at best), to sing before a massive audience. Yes, I have heard more polished versions ... however, it's unfair to compare your performance to that of someone who has, previously, performed it 100s (perhaps 1000s) of times. Surely, yours would be equally lustrous!

actually, simon is right. i would've done the same thing too. brooke is the casual type, you know. she's very natural. the issue is not the lyrics actually, it's her performance but still she's one of my fave. she and jason castro are the type who will last long in music industry.

Even from the beginning at auditions and still now I don't feel as if she is putting on a front being so nice. I have been less and less pleased with her performances ever since "Let It Be", but "Every Breath You Take" was done exceptionally well also. This week I feel bad because unlike David Archuleta I don't think that she can survive tonight with messing up the lines, let a lone stop and restart. I'm sad about it honestly.

Everyone else sing really well, they were WELL-PREPARED....Brooke did OK. She kept her poise on stage. However, she was not WELL-PREPARED. The competition is so tough and close. Even a little mistake can cost the competition. Really good season. I expect Brooke gone.

Brook is one of the rawest talents on the show. It showed with Sir Andrew. He recognized she had no idea what the song was about. He challenged her to bring out from within a powerful emotion. She did it. I was moved by the performance, the texture of her voice was live, living, real.
She went through a learning curve when he referred to her as 'a good actress' because now she realizes she has the green light to play up that emotion she naturally brings to the table.

she did the right thing by stopping. it would have been worse if she would have made words up like paula said she should have done. simon and randy were right. mistakes happen even to the best of us. minus the mistake, the pain and suffering in her voice made the song even better. She was singing about a dying woman after all! Very heartfelt performance.

it's not just the start-stop thing. (at this stage of the competition she shouldnt forget lyrics, the others can manage without forgetting, so why cant she)
But besides the start-stop thing, she just looks like she is expecting bad comments or something, she just doesnt let it all go...makes me feel tense watching it. She can do better

Why is everyone so hard on the start-stop? Just listen to the song esp the 1st half and you will all agree with Andrew that there is something never seen before.
And that's the thing about Brooke, something that the existing artists don't have.
Just that the contest environment is not suitable.

I think Andrew was right to see the potential in her. He said "There is something never seen before..."
I thought it was very good in the beginning.
It was beautiful.
The ending segment lost some concentration though.
But I think the judges were harsh this time. They are not feeling the emotions delivered. Anyone not feeling that authentic emotions must be COLD.
Maybe the crowd is just too rowdy.

I have been to many concerts where they forgot the words..or got the words wrong. even been to one where he started playing in the wrong key & said wait a minute i have to start over. & thats just regular concert, not on tv in front of MILLIONS on the biggest show there is. Most professionals forget words. Listen to any live album. Lots of times they play the wrong music to the song. How many rock bands had a lead singer so high he had to scream in parts of the song because he was too stone to remember. Forgetting words happens all the time.

She has had the same problem before in her performances...she has a weak personality, she is timid and worries too much and no one wants to see a performer like that. She needs confidence and strong determination. She doesn't have it. Period.

Personality involves a lot of things. When David A gets good news, he either acts totally suprise or acts like he doesn't care. He shows no expressions. All he does is stands there and gives a goofy smile. He doesn't even communicate really. It is like he is afraid to speak. David Cook, is a very good singer and should win, but he is what Simon said he was....he sometimes thinks he is better than he really is...that is a turn off for me.

Listen to the Beatles live they always forgot half the words. And these were their big hits. This girl just learned this song. She most likely is gone, but I think it's too bad, she can sing.
