Holy shit!!! I thought I would NEVER see THIS 4:30 Movie intro again! This one, I am pretty sure, was used by WABC Channel 7 in NYC until around 1975 (forgive me if my memory is fuzzy; I was 9 back then). Then came the one provided to us by Rousian. Then came the intro provided to us by burtiscurtis09; that one I believe came around 1980.
With Oprah shutting down, they really need to seriously bring the 4:30 Movie back. No more reality TV infesting the network channels.
THIS is the 4:30 movie theme that I remember! I especially recall the guy carrying the ladder at :39, and the director sitting in his chair, at the end. My mom would watch the movie, while dinner was cooking. If I wasn't outside with my friends, I might join her. No wonder I now have a great love of classic movies.
@Headroom23 If only a nice, big petition can change all that. There are a lot of good movies, even short recent ones, going to waste or even disintegrating in some storage vault.
all I did was use womble mpeg video wizard to mux (mix) the video of my clip with the audio of another clip. There are a ton of other video programs out there that would do something like this for you. It was all pretty simple
@timmymylad - It would be 1968, because Detroit's WXYZ, on May 20 of that year, was the first to call its afternoon showcase "The 4:30 Movie" (WABC, from the point it moved its afternoon movies to 4:30 on Jan. 8, 1968 up to c.January 1969, used "The Big Show" initially, then switched c.January 1969 to "The 4:30 Movie"). And up to 1973, both WABC and WXYZ used the same "4:30 Movie" logo.
All right, this is consistent with what was shown at WXYZ in Detroit. Thanks for sharing. --SJR

Is this the "original" opening to the ABC 4:30 Movie from (1968)? I never this one before!
