Guys, just because they don't show characters like Sazh or Fang, doesn't necessarily mean they won't be returning at some point. Sure, it doesn't look they'll be returning, but don't be so sure yet. So play the game when it comes out, and quit hating on it. I'm sure many people are sick of hearing about all the hate this and the previous game are getting. Especially when XIII-2 hasn't even been RELEASED in most countries.

I'm legitimately looking forward to this. I don't see it as a FFXIII part 2, but more of a FFXIII redo. It seems more like what my impression of final fantasy should be than 13 ever came close to being. I hope it's as good as I think it will be.
@NPKing123 That's like saying Chrono Cross is a remake of Chrono Trigger or more accurately, FFX-2 is a redux of FFX, since this game legitimately follows the same formulas and sequel tropes as X-2 did.
It's a better game, but it's still plot heavy on the first game, making it a failure as a stand alone, and only a decent game in its innovations.
Music is spectacular, though. Listen to the OST everyday when i can. Plus i like Claire's story and costume a lot more in this.

If you saw the hands on trailer you'd tell that Squeenix put a massive ammount of work into retooling XIII-2 into a completely different gamestyle from its linear predecessor, so you can't fault it as repeting mistakes. And on that note I still want one of those damn transforming weapons.

@julienlego thats a big claim, being the game hasnt even released outside Japan yet. Im not going to hold my breath. But some people liked XIII. Unfortunatally, it was at the cost of previous FF fans.
Versus looks to return some of the classic FF elements that XIII threw out (and possibly some elements that have been dropped after FFIX). And hopefully Type-0 will be localized soon.
Its fine SE is profiting on those who liked XIII, just XIII and its gameplay elements isnt suited for me.

Versus is taking too long and XIII-2 is a pointless spin off. Now, I LOVE Final Fantasy, but once I saw this, I dropped it. I didn't even recognize EVERY returning character. Last time Square messed with time travel, they made FFVIII. No I'm not a hater, I just opened my eyes and stopped being brainwashed. Check out the spoony experiment if you don't believe me.

@seohirothssoul XIII-2 is a sequel, and it takes place many years after XIII. If you can't recognize the characters when they're older then you simply didn't take a liking to XIII. The time travel aspect is from Chrono Trigger, not FFVIII. Are you a hater of Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross?

@julienlego I'm sure that 2 years is not many years, and no I haven't played Chrono Trigger, but I'm trying to keep things in the Final Fantasy aspect of thier work. And by I didn't recognize them, I mean that thier costumes are horrible. Lightning especially would not wear that if she were not stuck in valhala.

@seohirothssoul You'd be surprised how much can change in just two years. Also, SE does a good job taking what works and adding a twist to it; that's what they're doing with time travel. I recommend you play Chrono Trigger. It's fantastic. Also, how would you know what Lightning would wear? Did you design the character? No.

@julienlego thats a big claim, being the game hasnt even released outside Japan yet. Im not going to hold my breath. But some people liked XIII. Unfortunatally, it was at the cost of previous FF fans.
Versus looks to return some of the classic FF elements that XIII threw out (and possibly some elements that have been dropped after FFIX). And hopefully Type-0 will be localized soon.
Its fine SE is profiting on those who liked XIII, just XIII and its gameplay elements isnt suited for me.

But look at it this way, hopefully the long wait for Versus will be worth it, as they had much longer to build up the game and its mechanics.

And yes, Square Enix is making a sequal for that very reason, because Final Fantasy 13 was such a let down.
Now either Go and look at the 3 trailers of Final Fantasy versus 13 and keep waiting till late 2012 or early 2013 for its release or stfu.

i havent seen hope in gameplay only cutscenes while in the case of snow he has gameplay but you can see how the party is only conformed by serah,noel and some ramdom shitty monster ,GAWD I REALLY HATE THAT SYSTEM OF MONSTERS it completely ruined games like tales of symphonia dawn of the new world :/

jk, the game seems a little different this time(something OK, and not seen too much in sequels), and I think I can dig the characters (except maybe Snow and Hope, they both are obnoxious as hell).
