I first heard this album in dec 1991 (brother bought it for me for Christmas!) I was 13 and it was WAY over my head at the time. I mean, it's adult music for adults. Now I think it's just absolutlely fantastic! An over looked Album, but it grows on ya, like poision ivy.
I always was a big fan of Lou but I really didn't realize how talented John Cale was until I listened to Songs for Drella...one of the most underrated CDs ever...
Yeah- at the time it seemed like the right thing- especially to Reed. But as they wrote an entire album in his memory they obviously had immense respect for him.
you've got the money

No one can beat these two ennemy-brothers in their good days.
Great performance.

You're maybe right, but i think that Cale and Reed were much better in their lonely artistic way. Listen to Berlin (reed) or Paris 1919 (Cale)!!!

I'm not sure that Lou is singing higher. What are your opinions?

interesting film: Lou is very quiet here but Cale shows such affection

Wow, they really despised Andy, didn't they?!

They actually respected him quite a bit if you hear their interviews. Though on this track it sounds a little ambiguous.
