  • This is a little too simplistic.. Godly men can do what they KNOW to be wrong for all kinds of reasons: fear of man, money, power etc.. What we need is men of COURAGE who are willing to be ostracized by all, to stand against women preachers etc..

  • You know 'Paul D Washer' is one of the best preachers of the gospel I have ever heard of etc. If only Australia had Godly men just like him! I just don't think that there are God fearing people here?? Perhaps so, but I never in my life have witnessed people acting like truly born- again?? or that have witnessed to me. My eyes see VANITY FAIR every day!! WHY?? because men and women HATE GOD!!

  • i am so blessed by this presentation!! about to go to bed and the Lord had me to search for fasting and found paul washer. who is this guy? all of them amazing ! the humility!

  • Thanks Falconexecs for the site!

  • Soooo true!

  • Amen! This is a very clear message that many people need to hear.

  • David said, "...if you think you can live in the world..." There is a difference between "living" in the world, and committing a sin in a moment of weekness. Hope this is helpful.

  • If time allowed, I'm sure David would have provided truth to every facet of this diamond we know as the working of the Holy Spirit. So, if you're a Christian and you can think of a time when you sinned and you didn't feel too bad about it--it doesn't mean you're not a Christian; it just means you have temporarily turned your back to God and got distracted by the things of this world.

  • David was not saying that the "only" assurance we we have is in the chastening of God. If you're a Christian, it would mean that if you sin and you don't sense the Spirit of God make you uncomfortable, you have a calloused heart, you're backslide, or have scales over your eyes. If you're a non-Christian, this would mean that the Spirit of God does not live within you.

  • Where can I get more videos or sermons from David Ford?

  • globeforchrist.

  • So are you saying that the only assurance God offers the believer is chastening every time he/she sins?

  • Truely born-again people can fail to love God. See Ephesus, Revelation 3.

To teach people their salvation depends on their fruit as evidence is simply wrong. Feed them God's truth and they will grow. If they don't grow, God will not take back the gift of eternal life as His truth is not dependent on their response. God is not a man that He should lie. Eternal life is the present possesion of every Christian; John 5:24. Those who don't grow will suffer loos of reward at Christ's judgement seat

  • This is true, that christians can fail, we can be weak and choose to sin, yet if we are indeed truly born again, as David said, the Holy Spirit in us will rebuke us as a father chastens the son he loves (Heb.12:5-7). He's not disagreeing that every Christian possesses eternal life, but rather that if you don't know the rebuke of God when you sin, then there is no EVIDENCE that you are a Christian, that you've been saved, and the Holy Spirit is in you. If one is saved, they WILL know this rebuke.

  • Mike, you've responded by putting words in my mouth that I never said. You said, "Feed them God's truth and they will grow." Then you say, "If they don't grow." This alone is a contradiction. Then, I never said God would take back the gift of eternal life. It is a "present" possession. Paul said, "Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is not His." Pretty clear.

  • It's been a while since I put in my two cents and you responed so let me say this; worldly Christians go to Heaven. Often the antidote to worldliness is good teaching concerning grace.

That comes fro9m properly discerning God's word. Many are lost to worldliness because they have not been fed the word of grace.; Most seem to brelieve it is the other way around as in "too much" grace teaching. OSAS.

  • amen!

  • I love it when a man of God dumbs it down for you! Thanks Br David

  • amen!

  • amen!
