Anytime anyone wants a serious, factual and enlightening discussion between the two sports from the angle of someone who is actually and truthfully in both sports on a professional level, let me know.
The thing is in boxing, losses are CRUCIAL and depict the rest of a mans career, where as in MMA, losses are common. Most boxing promoters would rather have a guy with a flashy record than have exciting fighters with so-so resumes.
At the end of the day I think it's down to the fact that the so called "resting stages" of each sport can decide which is more exciting.
Boxing fans keep saying that ground fighting in MMA looks homosexual...now what looks more gay, 2 guys hugging in a ring...or 2 guys on the floor with one trying to bury his body-weight into the other guy's face through his fists/elbows or trying to crush his fucking wind-pipe etc.
Seems pretty obvious to me, but still I love boxing and I love MMA as well :)
Mosley? Hopkins? Klitchko? Marquez is fighting Hatton in June, who fans respect more than just the guy pacquiao knocked out. When Pacman fights Mayweather, it will generate lots of publicity for boxing. Not to mention up-and-coming fighters like Khan, Williams, and Prescott, who are getting a lot of attention. If you've ever gotten hit with even a 14 ounce glove you'll know it's not a sokem bopper and fighters can get hurt badly in boxing. It is far from dead; it's a classic fighting sport.
ROFL its your opinion that Mayweather is "The Best". Ya compare any UFC match to November 14 Miguel Cotto vs Manny Pacquiao, hell UFC is stupid if they held a PPV match the same day as that fight.
no they did it because they new they would out sell boxing and they wanted to prove it. and have Anderson silva v. GSP to counter program cotto v pacman we'll see who wins.
I think Manny Pacquiao is honestly the guy whose keeping boxing alive. His fights can most definetly topple off any MMA match put against him since he's the biggest draw in boxing. However, all other boxers i think would get crushed by the UFC. I'm pinoy too and a manny pacquiao fan btw. lol. Hopefully Nonito Donaire can pick up where manny left off when manny retires but i dont know, we'll see if he can.
For the guy on the left, I guess its safe to say that he's not a real Fight Fan, but more of a Boxing fan. I'm honestly a fan of both, but I don't see why you can't like MMA; its multi dimensional rather than one dimensional like boxing. MMA is multi dimensional and not one dimensional like boxing, which makes it way more technical and exciting.
I agree, it doesn't make sense at all. If you can enjoy the aspects of boxing how can you not look at mma and feel the same feelings about it. It's shit, I love boxing. I love MMA.
the guy whos for boxing, is absolutely shit.
