the PS3 did have a Gran Turismo game released in 2006, however it was a bit rare and a copy of that game demands a lot of money despite it being a GT4 demo with GT5 modes, about 12 cars or something..... look into it

This game is truly amazing. It has AMAZING tracks, and FABULOUS cars. This was truly a HUGE and I mean HUGE step through time for the series. Not only do you have that many cars, but you can add modifications to almost all of them! I can't even go on about how amazing it is. LLLLLLLLLLLLLLUV IT!

According to this guys video GT4 did not show the real power of the ps2. GT3 and GT4 only used 25-50% of the ps2's power. There was a survey done awhile ago for game devs on how much of the vector units programmers were using on the ps2. They found out that people were only using 56% of the vu1 and only 10% of the vu0. No game really showed the full power of the ps2. Parallel programming was really hard to do. Similar problem is occuring on the ps3.

@GamerNinjaX Sorry, I was a bit of an asshole when I wrote that.. There is a difference, but not huge. Its to do with how its displayed on the screen. Though the pixel count is the same, the framerate and the way the frames are displayed makes 1080p a much smoother image and there is a noticeable difference between the two, but you are right, this game brought 1080 resolution before any other and did an amazing job of it too.

Another problem with this game that it is difficult to get money because you start with a crappy car and they expect you to be racing BMWs which always results you in having this problem because you aren't able to get anywhere in the game because you don't have enough money

One of the reasons they didn't do damage modeling is because the manufacturers used to be very wary about the idea of having their vehicles banged up. That, and Polyphony saw it as kind of superfluous. "Oh maybe we'll add damage next time."
